The Geek Squad at Best Buy has HORRIBLE customer service! I made an appointment through Apple to get my iPad checked out. I was called the day before, by who I assumed to be a Geek Squad employee, to confirm my appointment and explain the issue with my device. I told her what was going on and she confirmed that they’d be able to take a look. I get to my appointment and there are two people working at the time. The appointment was for 4:00 PM but no one approached me until 4:15 PM. I get that people are busy, but at least being acknowledged would have been comforting. There is a sign that says “We see you. We will be with you shortly” displayed on the TV.
I finally get someone, explain the issue with my iPad (my pen/stylus no longer works on the upper half of my screen after getting my screen replaced) and I’m told that they can’t test it if I don’t have the pen/stylus with me. Whole time, I’m just looking to get a screen diagnostic to see if that’s the problem.
I hurried home to grab my pen and was given a waiver to sign. I was told what to fill out and where to sign, but couldn’t hear because the guy was mumbling under his mask. I said “huh” and of course he obnoxiously raised his voice to repeat himself.
After all of that, I’m told that they couldn’t do the diagnostic because I didn’t have an official Apple Pencil. Mind you the test was really for the screen itself rather than my stylus.
I spoke with the Geek Squad’s customer service line to inquire about the proper procedures for instances like this. While the agent did express that every store could practice different policies and procedures, he also stated that the diagnostic could have/should have ...
Read moreCalled about a simple repair job for psu cable, literally a repair I could've done myself, just missing a tool at the moment, the guy on the phone told me to bring it up to the store, then when I arrived, I was told they don't work on psu cables. I genuinely love the miscommunication. Seems like the only thing they're good for repair wise is phone screens. I would recommend anyone who needs actual repairs to just look up a video and fix it yourself as it will be a far superior repair job and experience than the one you'll...
