I rented an apartment that was marketed as a well maintained older condo by Dream Town and they also executed my lease. I was shocked to discover upon moving in that they had not made sure the owners had properly inspected the apartment or verified that the heat had been serviced in accordance with the Chicago Heat Ordinance. Underneath what looked like pristine and decently maintained covers I discovered filthy rusty radiators with flaking and peeling paint as well as rotting floorboards. I also realized the bathroom vanity had been shoddily replaced leaving a rotting hole in the wall behind it where the old vanity had been removed.
