Full story-
I’ve been to Clay Monet many times over the years and had great experiences, except for my most recent one. I bought a wheel throwing class for my mom and myself and had a wonderful time with our instructor. Once our items were fully dry we went in to paint them. When picking up the finished items, I was asked by the manager if everything looked okay, and I was under the understanding that the manager who was packing up our 6 bowls was asking if I liked our items. A day after picking up the items, I unwrapped the bowls and noticed that the bottoms had glazing and paint taken off (the blue) and chipping (the yellow)
This is the first time this has ever happened, so I called the store and asked if they could reglaze or help fix the issue since it was something that happened during the baking process. I spoke to a store associate who was kind and told me they would reach out to their manager to help rectify this issue. A couple days passed without a call back, so I called the store again and was able to speak to the manager. She was rude but told me to bring the items in so she could take a look at them.
Once I brought the 2 items to the store, the manager let me know that Clay Monet wouldn’t do anything to fix the chipping that happened during the baking process. She also didn’t offer any other solutions. She stated that was why she asked me at pick up if I was happy with my pieces…. Since I accepted the pieces the blame/ fault goes on me?! I find that ridiculous and now I have 2 pieces that are chipped and will continue to chip.
Ive never had this issue with any of the other items that I’ve painted or hand built, then painted over the years from Clay Money. I’ve also been to other wheel throwing/ pottery stores and never had this issue.
Sadly, I won’t...
Read moreLittle did I know the piece I had worked on was from another store. Thankfully the kind young lady still allowed to me to work on and finish my piece of art for my aunt whose kitten at passed away. The next morning, right at opening hour, I received a call from the manager that my piece was not from their store but that for $10 they can process my piece. Which I gladly did. Now I don't know if this was the same manager, but I had my girlfriend pick up my piece for me since I live no where near Clay Monet and she reported to me how rude speaking the woman was. I didn't know that my girlfriend had already received the piece, so when I called the store the same lady was short and not sweet with her replies to me. She cut me off with my sentences to ensure that the right person received the right piece. If it wasn't for the kind young lady at the begininng of this review, I would report it lower. Good store, just a...
Read moreBe prepared for your piece to have some imperfections. I made a perfect snowman head thing. No noticeable imperfections. But when I picked it up the eye looked extremely wonky. The is smeared paint everywhere. They said that when it bakes the paint sometimes moves. OKAY. But where was the disclaimer. I called and told them about my funky eye. They called me back shortly after I had a yapped to them about the less than Beautiful eye and told me to bring it in so they can fix it. Good customer Service. But should definitely include a disclaimer. If you will not be bothered by the imperfections you should...
