Kim's Hallmark Shop — Local services in Lakeland

Shop here often. I wish they’d open a new hallmark again in Lakeland area. This shop has a lot of nice things but the employees are stuffy and not too friendly. Every time I go in they hover and last night was no exception. Guy followed me or stood there staring at me. I wanted to ask him if I leave my purse at the counter if he’d feel better. I showed him the willow creek figurine I wanted. He took it down and was inside box when I continued to shop. When I checked out he had it all together again and normally they ask if you want to see it and show it to you. Unfortunately I’ve purchased broken Disney items etc and don’t find out until back home. I should have checked. I got home and before I wrapped I opened box and checked it out and sure enough a chip was on top. I returned today and the woman said, “we always show the customer before purchasing”. I said well he did not and was too busy watching me like he was afraid I was going to shoplift or something. I mean not sure where I’d put anything since I carry a small cross body purse. LOL her come back was, “well we get a lot of shoplifters in here.” I said, so I guess the white or grey hair lady in the store would not have been a suspect because what? Age? So now you are all profiling people? She went silent. Guess I need to stop coloring my hair. Or I could just buy my snoopy and Disney collectibles elsewhere and tell family when purchasing for me to...

I love Hallmark, am a Crown Rewards & a Keepsake Ornament Club Member. In 2003, I moved to our new home in FL & also traveled 6 mos of the year. Translation, I've shopped at Hallmark Stores all over the US so when Ornament Premier week comes in July, I participate no matter where I am -- WI, MT, IN, SD, IL, NV, TX, etc. A few years back, I moved to the Tampa Bay area & luckily found out my former home-base store, Charlotte's Hallmark in Pt Charlotte, FL, had a sister-store, Kim's Hallmark in Lakeland, FL. As I no longer travel, I've been shopping at Kim's & have never had a problem with any employee, the products or inventory at Kim's. My only complaint is the store layout -- aisles are narrow & unable to easily handle...

I just drove an hour and a half to get to this Hallmark because I heard they got in a new cow squishmallow and when I got there this morning they said they were all out. So I decided to get a couple little squish that my friend wanted and when I was at the checkout I saw four of the cows in a brown bag on hold for somebody else. I just really don’t think it’s fair that someone can just pick up the phone and call and get all four of the cows put on hold. But I drove from so far away and I’m here right now and I can’t purchase one. I definitely think it should be one hold per person. Or just be a first come first...
