Hi I’d just like to come on here and tell my story about what happened today at this Starbucks located in Lakeland Florida in Southgate shopping center. Me and my 2 friends ( which ARE regulars who come here almost everyday ) walked to Starbucks like usual after school to get a drink and cool off to wait for our parents to pick us up. Me and my 2 friends went up to order a drink (which it was a pink drink with cold foam) from this lady which I don’t know what her name was but she gave a heavy attitude my friend said because my friend asked her if she could get 3 tall empty cups cause me and my friends usually get one venti drink and share it among ourselves. This lady said no and started side eyeing my friend BUT mind you every other day they would allow us to get 3 free cups so we could share but no this worker had a attitude and said we couldn’t or wasn’t allowed. MIND YOU there is no official rule in Starbucks where we can’t get 3 free cups if we’re paying customers there just isn’t. Which tells me they’re definitely stingy or just judging us based off our age and how we look which is not and will never be professional. Me and my 2 friends sat down at the bar where we can see the drinks being made and we were just chatting and drinking our pink drink until me and one of my friends wanted 2 cups of ice which my friend went up and asked for it and sat back down. Moments later the this guy who is white, blonde hair , and had wrinkles who looks old came up to us with ice. He aggressively threw the ice cups on the table causing one to fall over and he walked away with not even ONE single apology. Me and my friends were shook and very angry about that as we usually get respected and should get respected like every other customer in there but today was different. It was like they were judging us based off our age but we ARE mature we don’t cause problems or atleast I hope we don’t. After that we went and sat outside because we felt very uncomfortable around such negative energy. Mind you we are minors, we are younger then the people working there and us getting treated like garbage makes me angry since we were always treated with such kindness and respect. I always come to Starbucks and I’ve never had such a bad moment like this which caused me to think it’s because all of the new workers coming in now that are very rude and have attitudes. Unless someone takes action or fires somebody ill keep writing bad reviews on this place until something happens. Read moreThe manager at this location was the absolute worst. Her delivery in speaking to customers is very rude and not welcoming at all. This is my second encounter with her and I only know this because I recognized her from the first time. Today they got my order wrong and I even doubled checked the app to make sure it wasn’t my mistake. I ordered a hot grande chai latte with pumpkin cream cold foam on top and they made it iced. A dude came back and said we will remake it but we can’t put cold foam on top because it will melt and I said its ok I’ve ordered it like this before I’m ok with that. He leaves and then the manager comes to the window and says hi we’ll remake it but in the future we cannot make hot drinks with cold foam as it is a standard procedure and I asked why would the app let me order it like that if they couldn’t make it and she said oh because it hasn’t updated yet but it will be soon. And I said ok well if it’s available still until the update, then that’s what’s available right now. And she said yeah I just came out here to tell you I’m the manager and I’m letting customers know that the update will be happening since we know customers have their favorites. My thing is us as customers will know when those updates happen. she came out of her way to still tell me that they can’t make my drink like that even though they still can as of today. And it was the way she came at me. The last time I had an encounter with her she came out to the window again and said hi your drink is about to come out but in the future when placing the order online, please place it 5 min before you get here so we have the time. I usually do place it way in advance but this day was a spur of the moment and I was in a long line, placed the order, hoping it was enough time by the time it was my turn but the link moved fairly quickly that day and that’s what I got. Read moreI’ve stopped at this Starbucks quite a few times, with it being in such a convenient location. Though I must say, I’ll always miss the old Beacon Road location- the retro gas station-turned-coffee shop was super cool. But I think the move to this location was extremely necessary because there’s way more room for parking and the flow of constant Starbs consumers.
The workers here are for the most part awesome in my experience. Though, sometimes they can be a little rough, but I’ve noticed that when ordering inside, so I’m not really sure what that means.
Anywho, you can mostly expect the same thing from Starbucks to Starbucks (bet you can’t guess which ones I’m talking about). I recently tried the coffee cake and it’s actually pretty decent. I do get a little weary of visiting Starbucks just because I know everything I eat has an insane amount of sugar, carbs and all the rest. But it’s definitely a fun spoil sometimes. Their refreshers are also the best of any coffee chain and I’ll pick those first over others, but not Starbs coffee (sorry man it’s just the truth).
Lastly, I love where this Starbucks is located now. In the Southgate shopping center you have a really great view- the famous Southgate neon sign! That never gets old, and when you go through the drive thru it’s on all glorious display...
