You generally can't find better prices anywhere in Stark county, Summit county, or the internet. I've been shopping Dave's for several years and his prices still surprise me. Occassionally, I see people treat Dave's staff with low disregard because they are not impressed with his store. They don't have an appreciation for Dave's simplistic business model. I feel sorry for the people who aren't respectful because Dave and his staff know how to handle troublemakers. Dave stocks a wide range of bargain priced products that are hard to find at other stores and very expensive when you do. The more you buy the better deal Dave gives you. Go ahead and fill up your cart because it'll cost you three or four times as much anywhere else. I haven't looked at a price tag in Dave's store in years because I don't need to. Dave and his staff have made providing for my family easy, affordable, and enjoyable. Dave also always has had a supply of hard to find poplular diet items like Gluten free and vegan snacks that taste good and that my wife and family enjoy that are extraordinarly expensive and hard to find everywhere else. Dave's contribution to our family and the communities he supports goes unmeasured. He may come across as "rough arond the edges" but he has been an asset to us. I hope Dave and his store continue to last the...
Read moreMixed results on the date of my visit. The store is comprised of 3 rooms, appearing to be a showroom, a back room and the warehouse. The farther back you travel into the building, fewer items are priced, requiring constant price checks. I'm an experienced salvage shopper, but found this system difficult to use; If individual pricing is too labor-intensive, perhaps adding large signs with category-based item pricing would do the trick. I did find many items with best by/sell by dates older than I would purchase, along with a higher unsaleable damage rate than I've seen at any other salvage store in the region. I did observe that EBT is listed as offered on their outdoor signage, but observed a sign stating "EBT Down" on the front door. After a quick check of the FNS/EBT database, I learned that this store is not approved to accept EBT. I observed at the register that a $1 charge is added for use of a credit card, rather than the percentage of sale policy required by both VISA and Mastercard's terms of service. Are there some deals in the building? Do you have to exercise caution to successfully shop in this store? The answer to both is yes, and if this is your kind of shopping, give it a shot, maybe you'll like it. If not, there are other more traditional salvage stores in the area with...
Read moreWe had no idea the store was about to close. The door was open when we went inside. We were looking around and the lady kept yelling at us every minute harassing us yelling "the store is closing in 5 mins, the store is closing in 4 mins., the store is closing in 3 mins"... etc. EVERY minute. I have worked in retail since 1987, and in every store I worked for, if the door was open, then the store was open. Yes, we would tell people when they walked in that it was closing, but we didn't harass them. We let them look around, locked the front door when it closed, so nobody else could come in, and unlocked the door to let the people who were inside shopping out. Then I was talking to my husband in the store and said "the door was open when we walked in, we should be able to look, and she piped in when I wasn't even talking to her, and she was completely rude. Then she said they open at 9 am. Like we wanna come back to a store where the person treats customers like garbage. I hope the rude lady runs this place to the ground, and I will help make that happen with word of mouth, including a bad writeup in the paper. The merchandise was...
