So before I wrote this review, I wanted to see what others had wrote about the food. and I noticed a trend with quite a number of reviewers that confirmed my experience. Unfortunately, the owners responses to all of them was generic and impersonal. I don't expect any changes to happen after my review either. With that said, let's begin! The atmosphere was really cool. it was a clean modern space with booths, tables, and high tables. The night we visited, it was poppin' with many people. Majority were Indian, so I was feeling good about that. The staff was very nice and kind, so we had no issues there. Unfortunately, I dont want to be negative, but this was our experience We ordered 2 Chicken Tikka Masala's One was mild, and mine was extra hot. Added Garlic Naan to both orders. I have to agree that the Tikka Masala had a watery consistency. Also the color was a pale salmon color. Im used to Tikka that is red from the Tomato based sauce. Again, others have mentioned that it was bland, and the both of us said it was lacking in flavor. Although, the chicken cubes were tender and tasted good. My "very spicy" Tikka was not very spicy at all. I could taste a little spice, which did make my meal edible. The rice wasn't too bad and tasted ok.
Im not an expert at Indian food, but having eaten in many Indian restaurants in Jackson Heights, NY, Im pretty sure I know what authentic or real Tikka Masala should taste like and this is not it. Sorry.
I guess if you live in the area you don't have much choice. Unless you want to drive outside of Lancaster City. I recommend that if you come in, look at the food from other patrons, if it looks watery, and not of the correct color, chances are, it will reflect in the taste. Good luck and I hope your experience is...
Read moreThis place is terrific! I had been meaning to go since they opened and finally did for the first time tonight. I’m mad at myself for not trying Tikka Shack sooner because I could have--and would have--been eating here every week all this time! The interior is fun and chic, all of the utensils are biodegradable and the staff could not be kinder or friendlier. All of that is just a bonus to how generous the portions are, how well the food is priced, and how fantastic the food is. It’s really good not just for a chain but for Indian food PERIOD, including a lot you’d find in major metropolitan areas such as NYC.
The masala fries are deliciously, improbably crispy, perfectly salted and spiced, thoughtfully interspersed with morsels of onion, tomato and fresh herbs which balance out the spice and decadence of the fries themselves. The basmati rice is buttery fluffy goodness, the chicken tender and the sauces thick, luscious and vibrantly full of perfect spice blends. I can’t wait to eat my way through...

The food? Phenomenal! Every dish bursts with authentic flavors, from the perfectly marinated chicken tikka to the rich, creamy butter chicken. The naan is light and fluffy, a perfect complement to the aromatic curries. Each bite is a journey through layers of taste that make you want to savor every moment.
The service is equally exceptional. The staff is friendly, attentive, and passionate about the food they serve. They're quick to offer recommendations and ensure you feel well taken care of throughout your meal.
