I am extremely disappointed with the service at this hospital lab. I took my daughter for a blood test, and the technician seemed unsure about locating her vein. Despite my request not to proceed unless she was certain, she went ahead anyway. After several painful seconds of fishing for the vein with the needle still inside, I had to tell her to stop. It was clear she had forgotten she was working with a child.

A second technician was called, and again I asked her not to proceed unless she was confident she had found the vein. Unfortunately, she made the same mistake, causing even more pain as she moved the needle left and right, trying to locate the vein while my daughter cried in agony. I finally intervened and stopped her. When I told the technician this would be the last time my daughter would be subjected to such treatment and that we were leaving, her only response was, “It’s OK, I would be mad too.” Not only was my daughter unnecessarily pinched multiple times, but she was also left with painful black-and-blue marks on both arms. It was obvious the lack of knowledge and experience necessary. The level of incompetence and lack of empathy we experienced is completely unacceptable, especially in a healthcare setting where professionalism and care should be a priority. I went into the LGH Downtown Pavilion for my first ever mammogram today which isn't fun obviously, a woman named Maria did my procedure and I cannot thank her enough she was so kind, compassionate, and caring she made me feel comfortable during a pretty awkward, stressful, and exposing exam. She radiated positively, putting my mind at ease. She was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I was scheduled a Covid-19 test here for a pre-procedure and wasn’t given much information from my provider except the address. I walked in and the ladies at the desk were so nice and everything was quick and simple.
