The fastest experience , while still getting my medical concern resolved, I've ever had at a doctor's office, hands down. I was at the Spring Valley location, but they had a long wait so referred me to Duke St with just a 7 minute wait. Spring Valley had signed me in, so my place in line was reserved. I got there, was second on the list, despite there being more people there waiting to get served and didn't sit in the waiting room for more than a couple of minutes before being called back. One of the ways that doctors offices / urgent cares get you on the time is that it takes a while to get into a room and then it takes a while to be seen. When all is said and done you've got hours into the excursion before seeing a doctor. I took out my phone to kill some time with that in mind, but it was just another five minutes before being the doctor knocked. My wife and daughter both have strep, sinus infection, and ear infection, so when I presented with strep symptoms, he said he'd just treat me and forego wasting time and money on a test. That's a win. All told, I spent 20 minutes from my first step in the door to my last step out, tops. It took longer at the pharmacy than it did at LGH Urgent Care.
I attribute my good experience to a few things:
The medical director at Duke St, Dr. Vito DiCamillo, didn't mess around. That man deserves a gold star. Reserving a spot ahead of time, which you can do online. LGH using urgent care best practices in general... This is verrry atypical. Most hospital systems can't figure out how to get you an appointment with your PCP in 72 hours let alone get me in an out of urgent care in 20 minutes.
Like most humans, my experience with the medical system is mediocre more often than not. This was a refreshing experience and LGH Urgent Care will get my business over Med Express, Concentra, and so forth so long as they keep up great...
Read moreTook my son here because he lacerated his finger and needed stitches. We didn't have to wait long. However, there were a few things that disgusted me. They didn't clean his finger before they sutured it, they poured saline on it only , no form of antibacterial cleanser or soap,-- and used his dirty gauze we had on it from home that was on it for over an hr. after They finished they put all the bloody bandages in the regular trash. They have no biohazard bag in the room. After stitches were done the NP quickly told me follow up with the fam Dr in a week for stitch removal, unless I saw signs of infection. (Which she didn't advise on.) They didn't even talk about the idea of using antibiotics for a finger that was cut on a can. They covered the cut with bacitracin with a copious amount, then stuck a bandaid on it which still was filled with blood by the time we got home. Can't forget that we were an inconvience to the NP. she brought his gym notes in and walked out leaving us sitting there assuming we were done. Have to say that my first expierence with this urgent care will be my last. I have medical background so I knew what to watch for, but I feel bad for someone who has no clue. I do not recommend this...
Read moreBad bed side manner. Unsatisfied with this operation. The receptionist was the most laxed worker I've ever seem in this building. So slow and unfriendly. My "doctor" (Javed Yasin) was not pleasant. In such a rush, unlike his receptionists, for no reason. There was no one waiting but me. I stated there are multiple factors leading to my visit. It's a compound injury. He said "just talk about one because this is urgent care". That's not good doctoring. That's poor service. He asked if I saw my doctor... I said no but I have an appointment with him, Dr. _, in a couple weeks. He dismissively said he doesn't know who that is, that this is urgent care not Lancaster General. They are seperate? What's in a name... Nothing. This is a disgrace to the excellent staff Lancaster General employs. They are professional. This is the worst. P. U. Just go to the ER. They withhold the Lancaster General standard of quality. Even if you have to wait, it is worth it to see a real doctor who...
