Downtown Smoking Club — Local services in Lansing

I was hesitant when I first walked into DSC. Al, the owner, however made me feel right at home and always follows up with our last conversation. He has created a friendly, close knit community which always welcomes new members at the price of a cigar. The conversation with the other patrons is second to none and in a comfortable atmosphere (and comfy chairs) I find myself spending a night or two a week of my free time there. I think I know how Norm felt on Cheers, because Al creates the same atmosphere. I was new to Lansing a few months ago and found a fantastic circle of new friends in no time. Its BYOB and Al keeps the place open late, especially for various sporting activities. You can either lounge and smoke one of his fine cigars or play pool, darts or Euchre. Selection is very small and prices are higher than traditional B&M. A pressure to buy infused or in house cigars is present from the owner. Area is often not necessarily clean and feels more like a good ole boys environment. Humidity quality seems to waver. No outside cigars allowed to be brought in, so it requires a lot of compromise. Lansing just doesn't have quality lounges.
