I was hesitant when I first walked into DSC. Al, the owner, however made me feel right at home and always follows up with our last conversation. He has created a friendly, close knit community which always welcomes new members at the price of a cigar. The conversation with the other patrons is second to none and in a comfortable atmosphere (and comfy chairs) I find myself spending a night or two a week of my free time there. I think I know how Norm felt on Cheers, because Al creates the same atmosphere. I was new to Lansing a few months ago and found a fantastic circle of new friends in no time. Area is often not necessarily clean and feels more like a good ole boys environment. Humidity quality seems to waver. No outside cigars allowed to be brought in, so it requires a lot of compromise. Lansing just doesn't have quality lounges.
