On August 31st at 6:40pm, during what was supposed to be the final day of my bachelor party weekend, I experienced the worst customer service I’ve ever seen at Horror Unleashed.
I came in through Zone 2, which is extremely common. To be transparent, I had just purchased a small soda pop and Hello Kitty candies as souvenirs for my fiancée and son and carried them in a small fanny pack. At security, I walked through the scanner, and only afterward a Caucasian male staff member told me I was supposed to take my phone and wallet out of my pocket and put them above my head. That kind of instruction should have been given before I walked through, not after. It was a perfect example of how the staff seemed untrained, confused, and unprofessional the entire time.
On the far right of the entrance, a tall Black male staff member inspected my bag. From the start he was hostile and unprofessional, asking if my unopened candy was “food” and if my sealed soda was “a drink,” treating me as if I was trying to sneak in contraband. What shocked me was being told I couldn’t take them inside or even put them in a rented locker. How are people supposed to use lockers if nothing like food (in my case candy) or drinks can go inside? I don’t even know if that’s a real policy—I am pursuing a call with management to find out what the actual guidelines say. But at the time, no one could give me a straight answer. Another staff member even admitted, “The place is just trying to make their money.”
This was supposed to be a celebration with 6+ people, and because of this ridiculous treatment, the venue lost over $600 in revenue. I had bought small gifts for my family, not contraband, and to be treated this way was insulting.
If Horror Unleashed has a strict no food or drink rule—even for lockers—it should be clearly stated in the marketing and ticketing process. Instead, customers are blindsided, confused, and humiliated. For an event that advertises horror as entertainment, the only real horror here was the...
Read moreI had a blast here. I'm a big fan of HHN Orlando and seeing the pedigree of talent behind the scenes here who were from Orlando gave me high hopes. For the most part, I was not disappointed. Folks who enjoy encounters like this will find much to enjoy here. I have seen others complain about the use of voice loops and lip synching. I get these complaints but there isn't really a realistic way to avoid this at the scale of this attraction. Multiple casts of scare-actors - like they have in Orlando - would be prohibitively expensive in an environment like this and further increase the cost. If you can't have multiple casts, this means you need a way to keep voices fresh. This is also why they run a "two houses on, two houses off" schedule. This gives them the ability to allow breaks for scare-actors. I did love a couple of houses more than the other two but this is not really a major issue. I'm also going after only a month of operation so there will no doubt be further improvements. The food and drink were varied and good quality. My cocktails were made fresh and not pre-mixed. The staff was attentive. The scare-actors - - particularly Dracula!!! Wait until you see him!! - - were all excellent and giving it their all. My fifth star is missing only because there is room for improvement. In one house, I only had the show-stopping effect once during my three runs. In one house, I saw that the back half was missing some scare-actors so some rooms were strangely empty. In a fourth house, the primary effect that I saw in Orlando was completely missing and left a pivotal scene somewhat empty. These are all nitpicks. I truly loved it and hope to make an annual visit to the...
Read moreHad an absolutely awesome time here and would come back.
Got here around 4:30pm on a Sunday and security line was quick + employees were super friendly. The aesthetic and vibe of this place are insane, even outside of the houses. The horror actors do a great job and are dedicated to staying in character.
We decided to grab a drink before hitting the first house at the front bar, which was awesome. After that, we went to the bar in the back by Jack’s area and had absolutely incredible drinks - the experience was even better thanks to our bartender Ashley. She was super personable, friendly, and gave excellent recommendations. We came back twice and then she recommended the Severed Pear at the main bar - which packs a massive punch and also is incredible. Major shoutout to her, she made the experience even better.
As far as the houses go, the sets are unmatched and immersive. I’m a big horror / haunted house fan so I didn’t find them to be too scary, but they’re very well done and the scare actors absolutely kill it. In terms of most favorite to least favorite, I’d say Monsters, Scarecrow, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and then Exorcist. They’re all great honestly. Lines weren’t bad at all, I think we maybe waited 15 minutes max for one of the houses.
Overall, I’d absolutely come back when back in Vegas. The houses were great, the bartenders were friendly and personable (shoutout Ashley), the drinks were fantastic, and the experience was awesome. If you have a few hours to spend and wanna just have some fun, I’d say...
