Where do I start; the cantina is in a gentleman's club, which we know what happens in gentleman clubs. The cantina is on the other side, so it was all good. The ambiance is a little dark, wood tables are dark wood, booths look comfortable. The walls are covered with wall paper that looks like roses. The bar is back lite and appears to be fully stocked. The waitress greets me and sits me in a booth and let's me know if I would like to order a drink it must be done through the app. I'm waiting on the rest of the parties to arrive. The waitress brings chips and salsa to the table. The salsa and chips looked homemade, chips were good, salsa was spicy with no taste. My first friend arrives and she felt she really didn't want to use the app to order a drink...she did anyway and it appeared the drink was okay. The waitress brought water to the table that had very little ice, so the water was warm. I asked for a lemonade and it was brought out warm also. The last of our party shows up places her drink order and we decided to order dinner, since we have made plans to attend a candlelight concert we want to get the order started. Did I say it was dark in the cantina I could barely see the menu. I'm going to tell about my dinner only, my friend said she eats there all the time and it's good. I ordered the flat steak with chorizo, rice and vegetables. I asked the waitress to leave the chorizo off , because it taste too greasy for me. I asked for Spanish rice but the waitress said they only had Cilantro rice, I love any rice so not a issue for me. The waitress brings my dinner last and the meat is burned, it has no taste and it so tough it's like cutting leather. The vegetables are over cooked i.e. one small scallion, small red pepper, a large pepper that I thought was a pickle...won't make that mistake again (lol). The rice was really sticky and had no Cilantro at all! Threw refried beans on the plate, yuk. The flan was so little I had to look for it on the plate,. The little I had was okay famous I think not I have had better. The meal was absolutely awful! Now, my friends said the waitress had an attitude I did not notice this, but when it was brought to my attention I was going to address this. My party did not want to address it and wanted to still tip her so I did. Now the bill comes, the bill all prices were doubled, and they put it all on one bill. When we asked to split the bill I saw the waitress had attitude I think she felt she wasn't going to get a tip. Do you know they charged for the chips and salsa! Where do they do that! This is what men have to put up with?! So you know I will never set foot in the Eldorado Cantina again! If men were smart they would not ether, they are being ripped off. Eat at your own risk, and if you don't mind losing some teeth in...
Read moreI had been to this cantina before & really enjoyed our overall experience however this time i can honestly say it was one of the WORST customer service experiences i have ever encountered. We were celebrating 3 birthdays & ended up choosing this location over the one at Tivoli Village because even though the ambiance is nicer at tivoli people had mentioned the food was better at this location. We were a party on 6 with 1 toddler. Everything was going smooth until my daughter had to use the restroom & by the time we came back to the table the food order had already been taken. I said no worries when the waitress is available she will stop by and take our order however this NEVER happened. I kept on trying to make signals so she could stop by & take my order but nothing. By the time the previous ordered food came out i ask the runner for a Michelada & i figured because eventually the waitress would come deliver it or at least stop by to ask how everything was going i was going to be able to order mine & my daughters food. Well once again waitress NEVER stopped by our table. Funny part is that the waitress was definitely not acting the same way towards other tables around us.When my sister in law got up to use the restroom i asked her if she could please tell our waitress to stop by our table so i could speak to her & when my sister in law informed this to the waitress she said what do you need from across the bar all the way to the end of our table where i was at. I simply replied with the same answer- when you have a chance please stop by our table, Well an extra 10 more minutes past by & once again the waitress never came. At this point i had mentioned to my husband i would not be leaving any tip as the service was horrible but of course i forgot when a party is bigger than 5 gratuity is already included. Not until a new waitress arrived to work around 5pm is that we finally started being taken care off. This new waitress did stop by to ask if we were ok -by this time my party just wanted to get out of this place but my daughter was hungry & wanted to eat so i finally informed her it seemed that our waitress forgot about our table & was avoiding us for some reason even after the fact we had asked her to stop by when she had a chance twice before. I also informed her my michelada never came & that i still needed to place my food order. She did apologize but i understood it was not her fault as she had just started working. The only good thing i can say is that my mole enchiladas were still good as well as my michelada. But because of the service we received we will not be going back again. I had never felt discriminated/unwanted at any restaurant as i felt here & i can definitely say it's the worst birthday celebration dinner...
Read moreWhere do I even start! Well first off this don't let this place put you off by being right next to a strip club. They have their seperate entrance and it's no problem to bring your kids. The first time we visited I had the tropical salad. By salad standards it was so delicious. This second time dining here just surpassed all my expectations. It was National Taco Day on taco Tuesday so they had a promotion on their signature tacos for ONLY $1!!!! I actually found this posted on Facebook. You really can't go wrong with dollar tacos anywhere, especially when El Dorado is promoting it. They had so much to choose from. However the promotion only allowed 5 tacos max per person so I had to choose wisely. SIGNATURE TACO CHOICES: Queso Mexicano - Short rib Salmon - Lengua Cactus - Cabeza Chili Verde Pork w/ chicharrón FAVE Octopus & Chorizo - Langostino My husband and I choose differently so I got to taste them all and they were all absolutely scrumptious. Cooked and made to perfection. When we got them the manager (I want to say) presented them all to us. Which is something that I appreciate. For dessert we ordered fried ice cream and flan. The chef, Chef Paco came out and presented the dessert and personally gave us his card. He was such a nice guy. He even gave our boys churros filled with dulce de le he. Free of charge. Lets talk about the desserts. Fried ice cream... it's fried! duh! of course it was delicious. The boys churros! Their lucky it was for them. 2 seconds it woulda been gone had I had my way. And the flan... TIP: check in with yelp and get a FREE FLAN!!!! Don't miss out on this incredible offer. Incredible because their flan IS THE BEST I have EVER HAD!!! I'd come back just for the flan. No joke! What I forgot to mention in the beginning was that we ordered margaritas on the rocks because it was the only happy hour drink they were offering away from the bar. I hate to say this because I love this place but the drinks were really disappointing. To me it was more of a limemade with a hint of Tequila. Hopefully in the future they can get the Tequila and mix ratio right. Our waters were always filled and our waitress Ericka was so sweet and always made sure we were ok. Service like this, sadly isn't everywhere I dine at, so I really appreciate and praise when a business shows that they really care for their customers. You can count on our family and friends on coming back for more of the phenomenal, organic goodness this restaurant has to offer. Thanks again to the staff at El Dorado Cantina for...
