My $2,500 Maggie Sottero dress was ruined by this place. Along with my photos. They said they were gonna fix the beading on my dress. She literally showed me the straps she fixed but the one part that needed fixing from the beginning was never fixed. I figured no biggie and cut the string easy fix. The bottom of my dress was cut so jagged it looked like it hadnt been hemmed since it was cut. I did not really notice but someone at the wedding pointed it out. When i went to pick up my dresses the first one didn’t work out because we tried to rework it luckily she refunded the whole thing. I tried my 2,500 dress on and something was wrong with the bottom so i was told the bustle buttons needed to be moved and could be fixed by the end of the day. I didn’t have a chance to try it on again because we were in such a hurry. I wish i had because the bustle was so bad. When the first time it looked GREAT . I had to ask my photographer if she can photoshop some. Although my videographer cant do anything. This place used to be really good for alterations they must have someone new because the alterations are garbage. 3 dresses back to back done wrong. $700 in alterations and one lady at my wedding asked me if they even finished my dress because it didn’t look finished from the back. We had it hemmed correctly but whatever last ditch efforts were made ruined it. I tripped over it in the front several times and then the bustle gave out not even 2hrs into the wedding . The hem back bustle was supposed to hit the ground so it wouldn’t look bad. It didn’t and was uneven . What is disappointing is how great the bustle looked before the last ditch efforts that were made. Either way i am glad I didn’t really notice or care during the wedding or i would have cried. Now that i am going back through pictures i want to cry. At least my big day wasn’t ruined. Fingers crossed on pictures. I was even gaslight my last fitting. Maybe when i asked the lady if i should i try it on again after they did more and was told no need to. So i didn’t and left a satisfied customer until today when i saw videos and pics of my bustle…. Will end up taking pics of the jagged cut marks when i get my dress out the bag and trunk of my car. Great place to buy dresses. Do not get alterations done if you have a really expensive dress. Sad part is this place used to nail every dress my mom brought there until my wedding. All 3 dresses were not...
Read moreVery unimpressed with everything. I went here this past Saturday and had an appointment at 1pm (for which I never got a confirmation) in search of bridesmaid dresses. We got started with an associate whose name I don't know...i don't even think she formally introduced herself.
She began by handing us this huge binder with bridesmaid dresses and a sheet of tiny little swatches (We weren't given the option to walk around and see what they had on the rack). She told me to point out dresses I liked and she'd let me know if they had it for me to look at. Literally every single dress I liked they did not have in stock. NOT ONE. Her explanation was "well we can't keep every single dress in stock, and most of what we did have, We sold."
In addition to having a pitiful selection of dresses, they carried NOTHING in my maids size. Our helper lady was very unapologetic for carrying such limited sizes, she simply said "well she can just try it on and I can pin it back"....i understand that would be fine for the occasional dress that she wanted to try on, but every single dress was a minimum of 6 sizes too big. Then, my maid of honor tried on one of those convertible dresses where it has extra material on the dress and you can make it a halter, or one shoulder, or tie it into sleeves etc. So my MOH is wearing it and we asked our consultant to show us how to make sleeves out of the extra material and she goes "oh I don't know how to do that, and I'm not using today to learn". Very rude, very cold, very unwelcoming. She made us feel like we were bothering her by our simple requests and did not find a solution for us...she simply shrugged it off and was not nice about it either.
I highly suggest they take the word 'bridal' out of their name and leave it Jill's Fashion. I also recommend they better train their staff on being more welcoming and courteous and making the bride and her party feel special, instead of feeling like we were a burden to her.
In a nutshell, brides go elsewhere. We went to Davids Bridal after this and the difference is night and day. Their staff was sooo helpful and welcoming and their selection and prices are so much better. Do not waste your...
Read moreI bought my wedding dress here in June 2018 and it was WAY too big but I was assured by the sales person that they could alter it no problem for $400-$500. I loved the dress so I decided to buy it and pay for the alterations. I took it to a couple other alteration places and was told by all that it would cost way more than $400-$500 to alter the dress, it would actually cost at least double that to alter the dress. It would end up costing me the price of the dress to alter it AND it wouldn't even look like the same dress. So I took the dress back to Jill's to ask for an exchange since I was mislead by the sales person. The dress has not been out of the bag since being purchased other than to put it on for alterations that never happened. When I got there, the person that "greeted" me was not very friendly and kind of brushed me off when I told her why I was there. She said something like "well we don't do exchanges or refunds", I never asked for a refund. The manager had left so I told her I would wait for her to get back. When the manager got there, I let her know the situation. I never once asked for a refund, I asked to simply exchange the dress, I would have even gotten a cheaper dress if that's what I needed to do. I let her know that I felt like I was just another sale to her salesperson and she should have never told me the dress could be altered. Especially since the sales people do not alter the dresses themselves and the person they use for alterations is not even in the shop. The only thing the manager tried to do was give me a number to the seamstress they use for their alterations, no thanks. Buyer beware, DO NOT BUY FROM JILL'S. For being a small shop, they do not have any compassion and are only there to get their commission. I will never go back to Jill's and hope this review saves other brides from the heartbreak of finding the perfect dress and not being able to wear it. Lesson learned the...
