I had been once before in Fredricksburg and I have thought about that meal for over 5 months. I wanted to treat my dad for his birthday at the Leesburg location and hyped up the food, atmosphere and overall experience. I have talked about the Tennessee tater tots and The Ramsay Bolton Burger to anyone who would listen. We had a reservation for 4 and last minute the 2 other people that were supposed to join us for the reservation couldn't attend and after apologizing and explaining to the waiter that the other 2 would not be joining, our waiter sat us down and asked what happened to the other 2 guests.. as if that's anyone's business. So that kind of started everything off on a weird foot, making me feel like the waiter thought less of our table because now it's less people and a lower bill. Which could explain why he ignored us for most of the night. We didn't know what we wanted right away for appetizers/ drinks at first so we asked for some time. 20 minutes later our waiter came back and took our order. We didn't have food, drinks or anything until almost an hour of being there. All the food and our drinks came out essentially at once, the food came out warm/ cold. The tater tots were cold and congealed. Never got a refill of water from the initial time we sat down, my burger was missing the main ingredient that makes the burger special but the waiter never came back to our table to ask how everything was tasting and honestly I never really saw him again to try and get his attention. My burger was dry and boring and finally a manager was circling around and I asked him for more bourbon bacon jam because I was convinced it was not on the burgers. He brought some out and 100% was left off the burgers, why I have no idea. So I was able to add it to the very last bite of the burger. The manager asked how everything was and my dad mentioned the cold tater tots and they comped us for that but didn't acknowledge the fact that they missed the main ingredient on both our Ramsay Bolton Burgers. I didn't like my wine, really disappointed as this was supposed to be a special dinner for my dad's birthday. Of course they were super quick to bring the check for me to pay!!!! I have never left a bad review anywhere ever but the amount of things that went wrong throughout the entire night just really hasn't sat well with me, much less paying $100+ for really nothing that I enjoyed has left me feeling...
Read moreMy wife and I have been wanting to enjoy this establishment since the announcement of its opening! Being huge Hellz Kitchen fans, Declan was one of our favorites! First, the atmosphere and feel of the place is very inviting and chill! We were a bit thrown off; walking upstairs, we saw it was empty, while the first floor had a few small tables available. When we walked upstairs, the host sat at a table and asked us if we had a reservation; we advised no; when we called a few months ago, they told us they were strictly walk-in only since it was such a small place. But we thought it was odd since no one was sitting at 5:30 pm. He told us they were reservations only, contradictory to what they told us when we called initially, but that was fine. We walked downstairs, and Alicia got us situated quickly and was super attentive. The beer selection made my wife happy, and the drinks we saw at the bar looked delicious. We started with the smoked wings, which were perfect, moist, fall off the bone, and flavorful. I would stay if I had a critique; the sauce was divine, but it was thin and too much; a little thicker and less would have made less like it was in a soup of sauce. Then we ordered the Ramsey Bolton burger; it looked fabulous but aesthetically mismatched! It had two small patties that didn't match the bun size, and only one had cheese. I think for a "Ramsey" named burger, the taste and jam were delicious, but the burger patties needed to either be smashed to fit the bun size or made into one larger burger! The cook was overdone, and they put mayo after asking it be made with no mayo. They brought it back with a new bun, but after sitting and being well done, it was dry. I ordered the salmon with risotto, and I chose to have the Brussels sprouts instead of the mixed veggies. The salmon was glistening, moist, and very tasty; the sauce, I think, should have been placed under the lemons, keeping it on the fish and not losing it all to the lemons when you removed them. I didn't see any grill marks; it almost felt fried in a frier with no skin, but it was still delicious! The risotto was perfectly cooked and rich with flavor, keeping you returning for more. The Brussels were just yummy, flavorful, well-cooked, sweet, and savory. Overall, it was a great experience, and we are happy we got to enjoy a meal here! We would come back and try something...
Read moreParty of 7 went for dinner last night - walked in and there was a table available to accommodate all of us, which was amazing and super lucky!
We were definitely a little slow with getting our orders ready at first, but our server was patient and we were starving. After that, however, service was preeettttty slow. The google hours say they close at 10pm but it was barely 8:30 and the vibe was that they were about to close. We could've been wrong, but they didn't say anything to us about that :) We tried to get going quickly. Only our party and 1 more party were there, and my table mates let me know they flicked the lights, as if to say it was last call or to start finishing up.
Food was....... pretty bad... 4/7 people did not think the quality or taste matched the price point at all. Chicken tacos were quite bad, the amount of rice that came with it was laughable (2 spoonfuls, maybe?) but the beans were good. The price point was totally fine for the bar, type of restaurant, location, etc. But the food should've been far better for such a prime location in Leesburg. The sides, however, were pretty overpriced for what they were. cocktails - amazing as always! Sides: there were an array of side options, which was lovely - but it was not made clear by the server that the side choice may require an upcharge (but was written in the menu). I think that should always be verbally mentioned. The onion rings still had the outer onion skin on some of them.. but were otherwise very delicious.
Overall - 2/5 for specifically a dinner experience. Not very good for a meal, but a great bar.
