What a transformation!!! I have a chair and ottoman that were handed down to me after my great aunt passed away over 20 years ago. It was bright red and was the center piece of her living room. Time and many moves over the years took their toll, but I just could not part with these pieces of furniture. Until I met Neil, I was sure I would have the chair reupholstered in red. He listened to me tell my family story about why this chair and ottoman mean so much to me. As I shared my memories, Neil asked me about my home and where the chair would be after it was finished. He had the foresight to not only let me hold on to memories, but also make it fit my home now. As it turns out, I settled on very nice blue with a great pattern. The chair was delivered today and I am sure my aunt is smiling down on me as I sit here and take a brief walk down memory lane. EXCELLENCE is the only way to describe our experience with Neil Choquette!! Neil restored an antique Artisan carved gooseneck platform rocker that was gifted to us from our parents. The gooseneck arms were refinished by a trusted partner of Neil and beautifully completed. The refurb and finish with the material we chose was completed by Neil and it was top notch! The chair is absolutely gorgeous and we are thrilled to now have it as a heirloom piece passing through our family. The customer service, contact and respect received from Neil from start to finish is almost unheard of in this day and age. He never seems bothered or rushed when you have contact with him for how busy his shop is. He's worth the call, worth the wait and a master of his craft along with his assistant, Hunter. I cannot say enough about the wonderful job Neil did upholstering 3 pieces of furniture for me. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. I read his reviews and drove an hour and a half from MD to PA to see him. I explained, I had wanted fabric that was washable. He handed me several books of swatches. When I chose the two fabrics, and explained I had two wingback chairs and a camelback sofa. He immediately knew the yardage and I was able to secure a place in line. In keeping in contact with Neil, when my turn opened up, I brought the 3 pieces to him. He did and outstanding job. The one thing I will say is to keep an open mind on completion dates. Artistry when done well, takes time and so it may take longer than expected. Don’t let yourself get discouraged about this. I can assure you, Neil is interested in first doing a fine job.
