The Bungalow On 2nd — Local services in Lewes

My friends and I were excited to stop into The Bungalow on 2nd during our trip to Lewes, but the experience was a major letdown. The second we walked in, we smiled and said hello—only to be met with rude looks and cold stares from the staff. It was clear from the beginning that we didn’t “look the part” to them, which apparently meant we didn’t belong.

We weren’t wearing frilly dresses or trying to impress anyone—we were just shopping. But several times while we browsed, the employees hovered around us, adjusting things nearby like they were waiting for us to steal something. It felt incredibly judgmental and unnecessary.

The whole vibe was uncomfortable and out of touch. If you’re going to run a boutique in a town known for being warm and welcoming, maybe take a cue and treat people like they matter—no matter what they’re wearing. We...

I was there during hospitality night this fall and I was impressed with the smoothness of the entire operation while customers flowed through like they were on a conveyer belt. From returning regular customers to brand new, the owner and staff helped each with kindness and elite efficiency. Every visit thereafter, I continue to be impressed by that and the constant refreshing of items to always give you a chance to complete your wardrobe or home decor. I love this boutique! The clothes are high end without the unreasonable pricetag that comes with many other high end boutiques. I have only been to Lewes twice, but both times I went to The Bungalow on 2nd and left with multiple pieces that I get compliments on all the time. I live near DC and have many available stores/boutiques, but this one stands out for its unique clothing & gift options and excellent customer service! I can't wait to come back on my next...
