Half Price Books — Local services in Lewisville

Horrible Serice at Lewisville location and possibly racist. As I'm just leaving this severely unorganized store where I had to wait and track down help, I'm feel quite disgusted and disappointed. I finally found a couple of books I could use. As I'm waiting in line at a reasonable distance, following the heavily posted guidelines for social distancing, not one but two gentlemen jump in line ahead of me. The first so close on the lady in front of me, she bumped into him to leave the counter once her purchase was complete. I clearly stated maybe the the 1st guy didn't see me. When the second guy come in front of me right behind him. I then loudly stated " maybe they're together." As the cashier continued as if nothing Out of the ordinary was happening, it became clear the two men were not checking out together. I then loudly said I obviously don't need these books and placed them on the counter and walked out. Perhaps it was coincidence, but I was the only person of color in that situation. Both the men who saw fit was inker white men and the cashier and lady in front of me to start were white women. I was completely ignored...

This is one of our regular go-to Half Price Books mostly because it's close to us, but also because they have a larger size store than the others nearby to us (meaning more stuff to check out).

The staff has been nothing but great to interact with over the years (selling and buying) and the store has always looked organized and in great shape. 👍

• Interesting side story about this HPB location for us. In 2020, my wife and I were sitting in my car for a few minutes after shopping there trying to determine where to go next. Suddenly a guy opens the passenger side door likes he's going to jump in and surprises me so much that all I have time to do is yell, "HEY!" at him. The guy freezes, we stare at each other, he apologizes, closes the door and leaves. A little freaked out ourselves, we drive a couple of stores away in the parking lot for space and collect ourselves. FYI, we don't think this parking lot is unsafe (even after this), but this was definitely a weird...

A used-book store that has all manner of print materials, from hardback & paperback books to comic books & graphic novels, HPB also has a wide selection of music, both records & CDs with selections from most popular genres, DVD movies & television series from documentaries to sitcoms & animated series, and most stores also have a wide variety of RPGs & board games plus a wide assortment of video games (from retrogames to modern console titles PS4/Xbox One), additionally, they normally also have a good selection of toys & collectibles with various higher-end items, like first edition or signed copies of books & out-of-print or rare books that you may not be able to find anywhere else, lastly they buy & sell all of the types of items listed above, I have not sold anything at an HPB store, so I’m not really able to comment on that process or the prices they offer for new...
