I visited this location tonight to try and take advantage of the last few minutes of their Black Friday deals. As soon as I came in someone came on the loud speaker announcing that there were only 15 minutes left. Totally fine. No one came to say hey, you know we are closing soon- can I help you find anything? Which I would have replied yes I’m unfamiliar with this location and I need to find this and this… That would’ve been a normal thing to do since there were I counted 4 people working and clearly I was the only person still shopping. I saw two of them walking around and directly by the isle I was on. The girl came on the speaker every 5 minutes saying they were closing. When I got up to the register I applogized for being the only one still there and that I didn’t know where anything was. Even jokingly said “I’m sorry you guys must hate me since I’m still here.” And laughed a little. The cashier literally said nothing and quietly sighed continuing to ring my purchase up. No thank you when I left either. Just a cold unwelcoming experience. Another person came in right behind me at the last moment and said hello to the cashier and she said nothing back. I worked retail for years. I understand this is a stressful part of the year- but I don’t think that should warrant me feeling unwelcome to shop until you are technically closed. I have been coming to Michael’s my entire life for crafting supplies. The last several times I’ve even stepped in a Michael’s (this location and two others around here) I haven’t been greated or welcomed or even asked if I needed help with associates right next to me. The hobby lobby next door will remain my go to place. They are cheaper on everything and at least the associates are kind and helpful. At least they say “thank you” or even anything at all for...
Read moreRecently, I came after dropping the kids at school and waited for the store to open, to bring some maps to frame. I entered the store at opening and went to the framing department. Many of the employees saw me and said nothing until I eventually asked if someone could help in framing. One of the men said that framing was separate and didn’t open until 10 (which was not true). So, believing him I left. When I could finally get back by, I waited till 10am. At 10:15 when I went to the framing counter, again, no one was available and the manager told me “she left to go to the bank.” Once she finally arrived, I dropped my very simple, but meaningful to me, order off for “Same Day.” Same day does not mean two day and I was not told 2 day. When I came to pick up the prints, I was just so happy to finally have some antique maps that represented our previous homes, finally framed as a gift to my husband. I got home and was ready to hang them when I saw that after the whole poor service, being lied to and 284.00 later, I now have very poorly framed maps. The maps are not centered within the frames. The edges of the frames are not aligned. I’m sure if I complained I would be called a Karen, however, I am a business woman and when paying for a service, the job should be done well. Plenty of people need jobs. Excellence should be a standard upheld no matter what level of work is being done. When I told the manager about this instance, he really did not care. The only good experience in Michael’s was an older woman named Patty who was incredibly kind while checking our crafting supplies out. I won’t be back to this Michaels and I do NOT recommend them...
Read moreThink we are done w/ Michaels!! Have tried to communicate our concerns at the corporate level but Michael's corporate just passes the buck back to the store level only management. Hard to get any results when the person or person's you have the problems w/ are also the judge & jury of the problem. Somebody named "Mike" has been given the title of District Manager but apparently it's just an honorary title, which is sad, because solving problems that diminish sales isnt part of his job description. I feel sorry for the store staff. We really do! You get paid peanuts but are left in charge of the duties of the BMW driving Southlake living corporate exec's. Sad excuse for Dallas brand company! If things are handled this poorly in your own backyard I can hardly imagine what it's like away from home! I'm glad the 1973 founding fathers cared! Those were the days!! Congrats!!! Yll, meaning CORPORATE, just lost a costumer...
