At first very satisfied! Then I received a very dissatisfying service. Two weeks after leaving a two star review, I again received exceptional service. Read on for details. My first experience with Autosounds was having them install a multiple color LED under light kit on my vehicle. Since having this under light kit, I have kept it on whenever I am driving my vehicle. Since the installation, I have put 16,580 MI on my vehicle which equates to the underlights running approximately 369 hours. One of my LED underlight strips recently needed to be replaced due to losing it's capability to display the variety of colors. This strip was not under the manufacturer 1-year warranty, so I had to pay just to replace the strip and no charge for service at $125. Here is something to think about. Just googling the life expectancy of an average LED light it's supposed to run for at least 50,000 hours! I also just recently purchased LED bulbs replacing all of my household bulbs and they came with a 10-year warranty! So the very limited 1-year warranty on these underlight strips is not directly the responsibility of Autosounds, other than they do get to choose what products to install on customers vehicles and it may be in their best interest to choose a better product. However, my recent disappointment involves their service, which is guaranteed for the life you own the product. Recently, another one of my LED underlight strips stopped entirely working. I was told to stop by anytime for a quick assessment. I stopped by that very day, and was told the strip had gotten disconnected from the power source and needed to be soldered together. The next available date to do this work was 2 weeks out and at 1:00 p.m. When I showed up to the scheduled date at exactly 1:00 p.m., I was told their Bay is full and try coming back at 4:00 p.m. So even with a service appointment, I feel like they still put paying customers first before loyally honoring their guaranteed service promptly. At least, they could have easily called me and saved my time and gas, but they did not. Revision on April 6th 2021. I have since returned to have the soldering work done on my under light kit. At this visit everyone was professionally nice. Jake showed me the under light LED strip he thought initially just needed soldered was physically damaged from an unknown source. This was around the time when we just had a terrible snowfall and extremely cold weather in Lincoln, so very likely some hardened snow mixture damage the light. Jake and Autosounds guarantee their service not unforeseen road hazard damages, so they had every right to charge me to replace the LED light strip, but instead, Jake said he had one and replaced it...
Read moreHORRIBLE AND AGGRESSIVE STAFF. One guy just cut a wiring harness out of my car without permission from me, (all the while, he had this Awful Demeaning Attitude like I had something hooked up incorrectly).... this was the harness for my trailer lights. They worked flawlessly until they were cut out by this maniac. I was treated like I was a problem for existing, for being in the shop. It was very awkward...I had to bring the car back 4 times for them to get it running PARTIALLY correctly. They handed it back the first time and my reverse camera was not working, so knows why... they got hand prints all over my freshly washed and waxed paint. Very insulting.... the car would die over and over due to the remote starter creating a parasitic drain. They struggled to track it down and acted like it they couldn't find it when I'd run the car back into them. I was always VERY NERVOUS to leave my car with them especially after the guy cut out my trailer hitch lights WITH NO PERMISSION FROM ME and a HUGE CHIP ON HIS SHOULDER. It was embarrassing for the shop... maybe it would be better if they cared enough to pay attention to what they were doing. This place made me very uncomfortable....I still think my battery would die if I parked it without a drip charger... like at a air port.... that'd be a great place to have the alarm go dead and have the battery not start the car up after a long flight. I can't even count how many times they tried to blame my car, which ran flawlessly before they messed with it.... now I have a sick feeling in my stomach when I think of this store.....And my 10.1 inch touch screen radio stopped working after the last time I was in...I can only assume the face got pulled off and tossed onto the floor......I felt a lot...
Read moreThis is an overdue review of my tremendous experience with AutoSounds. My son's 2006 Honda Accord had an issue with the factory radio cutting out, and eventually not working at all. A quick call with Shane at the shop confirmed his vast knowledge of likely problems with associated symptoms. We subsequently scheduled that appointment, and made accommodations to have the car parked outside late evening, ready for work the next morning.
This 2006 Honda Accord had a starter that was on very last days of it's life. (I even had issues starting, and worried about AutoSounds having those same issues starting the car just to get in the garage, let alone having to start it again on the way out. I told Jason and the team about this, and he was more than willing to work around!
So I get a call the next afternoon from Jason, telling me the car is ready to go, and acknowledged they had some issues getting started, but eventually did. The installation of the system was absolutely beautiful, and even added bluetooth functionality.
This next action is what sets this shop and Jason apart from all others from a customer service standpoint. I'd let him know that the next destination for this car was DSA Auto Performance. Jason, on his own accord, offered to take the car directly to DSA Auto for me!! This was a life saver as I was trying to figure out how to coordinate and get car to next destination. I've never experienced exemplary customer service like this before.
I've since recommended our other high school son, who's recommended his friends. There is no question I will continue to recommend any and all to AutoSounds and the amazing team they have down there.
