My mother went there on 10/29/25; prior, I gave her my extra card to use and keep. But after a few months she forgot where it came from ⌠Sheâs never been there before. She is 90 years old, and was literally attacked aggressively, verbally yelling at her to stop - as if she was going to steal something, and then all three men, surrounded her all because her check name didnât match the rewards name; however, my last name is on the check that was used but no one was bright enough to figure it out the connection.
This is all because of a rewards card mind you.
My mother forgotten where she got the card bcuz I gave it to her months prior - but the way they bellowed at her aggressively so, was highly uncalled for, intimidating, and unprofessional. She is not even 5 foot tall. Itâs not like she received any $ off.
Three people surrounded my 100 pound 5â0â90 year old mother who dresses to the T, and is a past business owner. The disrespect she received was over the top!! Finally a more subdued man, named Rob, came into the picture.
The entire situation - all over some lousy rewards card - was entirely, again, over the top, confusing to my mom and no one called me!!
If they were that paranoid abt my little rewards card being used by my 90 year old mother, then they should have called me - my number is on file but no one did.
My mother spends $$ when she shops, yet Giant lost a customer for life. Iâm forced to go there due to my prescriptions but never personally shopped as I prefer Martins and Weis, where customer service and treatment of people are done professionally and kindly.
Choose your battles wisely, men!! You all did wrong this evening and again, if you are that paranoid then CALL the number on the card profile then, vs harassing a 90 year old...
Read moreMy very first job was in a Giant Eagle and 30 years later I still enjoy my visits here. I mean seriously, what's not to like about a cavernous edifice dedicated to my favorite activity. My worshipping of food aside, this is the perfect place to plan and acquire everything you need for a truly first rate weekend of gluttony. Or any day really, why delay the feast unnecessarily.
The store is always clean and the staff are ready to help. Last I was there, one of these amazing staff knew where I could find Tahini paste. Thanks again Trinity. On a side note my brother hated the dip I made with said paste so it was truly a win.
The seafood is fresh and the aisles seem well thought out and organized thanks in large part to the manager, I think he's the manager anyway. By the way Giant Eagle, he's absolutely, shockingly, and unbelievably good for your brand and he needs a raise and a couple paid days off. His wife misses him. I promise he'll come back after a short vacation.
Okay, moving on. I love this store and everything and everyone in it. Ignore the name, they have all the foods and none of the oversized raptors. Seriously. Go here. you won't be...
Read moreGood pricing on some products. Nice selections in the meat department. I like their hot bar chicken very tasty. Unfortunately the cashiers are rude. I try to use self check out when ever possible. As tasty as the chicken at the hot bar is it is a pain trying to get anyone to wait on you. I have gone and there were literally three employees standing around the area everyone one of them saw me, but not ONE of them came over to help me. I think it is great they hirer mentally challenged people and give them work opportunities, however they really need to train them better. EVERY time I come in I get hit or almost hit by a cart because they aren't paying attention. I was walking in the store one day and a guy was putting a motor cart back he literally about drove it right into me and another customer. Seriously if you are going to hirer the people that's great, but make sure they are capable of doing the job without trying to injure your customers. Next time I get hit I might just...
