Okay. So, I definitely rolled the dice by deciding to drop my watch here for service. I'll admit I didn't do the proper research beforehand. And I really thought I was going to get the runaround because of all the negative reviews.
The watch serviced was a Tissot diver with a automatic mechanical movement - so it is a somewhat decent watch. I had managed to bend the handset somehow by doing a normal time adjustment. Also, one of the indices had fallen of when the minute hand twisted. The hour and second hands were surprisingly undamaged.
I drop off the watch on a Saturday evening and the shopkeeper tells me to return in 20 mins. Perfect, right? I come back but he then tells me that the watch needs to be sent to another shop because they need a specialized machine to straighten the minute hand. I'm totally fine with that. And he says it should be ready by 5pm the following day. BTW, he never gives me a paper record of the shop receiving the watch or any description of the service. We only had a verbal agreement of the price and service - along with me giving him my mobile number. NEVER DO THIS! Like I said before, I rolled the dice.
The next day I receive a text in the early afternoon that the watch isn't ready but NO explanation why. I start to get worried.
I text him on a Tuesday asking about the progress and I receive a response saying "It's not ready". NO explanation again. Now I'm getting really worried, I keep rereading those negative reviews and beginning to think about the possibility of filing a police report.
Another 2 days pass and I send out a text saying I will need the watch back soon and that gets ignored. I don't receive any texts that day. I'm mad and I've had enough. So I decide to head back to the mall to express my displeasure.
I walk in and ask the shopkeeper for my watch back. He apologizes and tells me it's out for service. He also says that the owner of the shop will text about something relating to the condition of the watch. I ask him a few times to clarify and the shopkeeper says it's about an observation. I ask more questions to clarify and he assures me the watch is okay and says "we service Rolex, it's okay". I guess this was to give me piece of mind that since they service super high end watches that mine would be okay? Okayyy…
They end up texting me the next day saying the watch is ready without any special message from the owner. I go and pick it up.
The watch was in great condition and fully rehabilitated as far as could tell. I gave the shopkeeper some desperately needed feedback about my experience described above. I told him to think about how things looked through my eyes as a customer. I also told him that this was first experience with them and to remember that I don't know him.
It's common courtesy and good business to give any details about how the repair is progressing and to give a realistic expectation of when the job would be completed. He promised 20 mins originally. That turned into 6 days.
He was apologetic and I accepted. I also can't fault the work that they did - it's completely restored and looks fantastic. He explained that he needed time to observe the watch movement, which is reasonable and makes a lot of sense.
So, in summary, I gave these guys 4 stars because of the successful result. I would have given them 5 if they were more forthcoming about the details about the service. And, if they had given me actual proper...

I bought a new Citizen Eco-Drive Titanium Perpetual Crono watch. This watch needs no batteries; so it charges itself via sun or other sources of light. It has not been 2 weeks since I had it, and after charging it for almost 3 days under a 65 WATTS lamp (non stop), and the time started falling back approximately 30 minutes behind. I thought it was a charge issue. I recharged it, and gave it another try for a week; so now it is almost 28 days, and the watch keeps falling behind 30 minutes. Here I am trusting this kiosk owner (his name Amar - indoPak), and pay him a visit to explain the issue, he simply and arrogantly responds by saying "...did you do this or did you do that???" and said ".. yes, I tried this and try that" and he finalizes our conversation ".....well you have to contact Citizen, you have a 5 yrs warranty". The owner is NOT friendly, He does not have a clue of customer service, he is just another cheap kiosk who sells cheap hardware.
Oh and I come to find out on the receipt (printed when I paid for the watch), it says, NO RETURNS NO EXCHANGES. This is net new less than 4 weeks old watch we are talking about.
Biggest scam and low profile type watch shop. I honestly do NOT advise anyone to even look at his kiosk. This place buys either refurbished watches or damaged products. Yelp will be the only way to put this nasty shop out...
Read moreIf I could give no stars I would. Like these other people have stated, they are a scam outfit! I called to see if they were open and 10:15 AM and it took them 15 - 20 rings to answer. I asked for an estimate on battery replacement on 3 watches, and they said they would need to see the watches. I was able to stop in within 5 - 10 minutes. The lady was on the phone in the tiny back office area and it took her several minutes to acknowledge me. When I asked how much to replace the batteries, she told me $19,95 for two of them and $39,95 for the other. She said these were Swiss watches and needed 'special' batteries with silicone seals. These are my everyday watches that I have had for years and have had the batteries replaced on them before with prices ranging from $10 to $12. When I told her my jeweler would do them for less she said that she could do them for $10, but there would be no warranty. When I agreed, to the $10 she said no she meant $12.95. I asked if she would honor a coupon from their website and she said no. I said really !?!? I walked away stating that I would be giving a bad review. As I checked the internet for their name and link to reviews, I noticed she went in and changed the date on the coupon...
