If you are black, or a person of color.... I would urge you to try the westminster or lakewood location. The food, the service and the atmosphere was all garbage. I would urge the people who not only own and operate this particular location to understand that people of color exist and deserve respect just like white folks. Some of us just want to go and eat have fun and leave. We don't deserve to be treated poorly or ignored simply because we're black. I literally stood in front of the girl taking orders at the counter while she just stood there doing something on her phone and I let this awkwardly go on for 10 min before I had to ask if theres anyway she would take our order... got our $60 order taken only to watch our food sit on top of a counter while not many people were in there for another 10 or so min and it arrived meat cold mac and cheese luke warm and watching the few other patrons get checked on and talked to but not us until I started searching for where to get a to go box. It's 2025 and the world should be past this.. But it is what it is
GQ BBQ has become a definite favorite!!! Been there many times now, have taken friends and relatives on their out of town visits, will find and use any excuse to go there! 😁 And have introduced your place to our local friends as well. As a matter of fact.. We just had your pulled pork and brisket for New Year's eve dinner with friends, and as per usual it was delicious! 😋
We're hooked!
Father's Day 2025 Ordered online the night before Went in and picked it all up. Order was ready when I arrived
Got a text letting me know when it was ready! So convenient on the app!
We've moved since last time we went and actually sat at restaurant Used to be 5 min away We're quite a bit farther now. But I do not mind driving there to pick up food Their brisket is the best I've ever had at a BBQ. Place, usually don't order that because it tends to be on the dry side, but GQs is so tender! Do not need a knife! The smoked wings with dry rub is a must for us, and of course the pulled pork, it just goes without saying, delicious!! My bfs bday is on 4th of July, so GQ has become a tradition for us. Any holiday (I can use as an excuse) I'll order from here. And if I'm in the area shopping, gotta stop, we've brought friends, who love this place now as well.
It's the best! Service is super friendly😃 Even if there a wait, it is worth it!🤤😋
And don't forget the...
Read moreOkay, full disclosure: I'm a barbecue snob. The best barbecue on the planet is in Memphis, TN. And I'm eminently qualified to make that statement. That being said, I have to be as honest as I know how to be about this barbecue: it needs some smoke and char. It's dense and moist with an excellent texture, but it has no personality. My dining partner, my connoisseurial equal, spied a cook in the prep area taking some charred bits from a cut of meat and (horrified gasp) throwing it away. I couldn't bear to turn around and actually witness this myself. This just left our barbecue generic in flavor. The sauces to add were greatly needed. I liked the Hottish sauce, a perfect balance of sweetness and heat. The onion rings were decent, with a tempura like coating that is not my personal favorite (I prefer a dredge through cornmeal batter), but were a serviceable large portion. They have Pepsi products to wash it down with, and apparently a bar, but it was unclear to me how to get to it. Through the filter of a busy Saturday lunch crowd I was treated to a soundtrack that included The Offspring, Jane's Addiction, and The Violent Femmes, to name a few songs. This made for an upbeat experience. You'll have to park at the mall, so good luck with that. I want to go back and get a wider sampling, but as far as the fundamentals go, GQue has just...
