I made reservations for my wife’s birthday at Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille after reading online reviews. I was able to make reservations easily a week in advance.

Remember that their business casual dress code is enforced.

Upon arrival the parking was plentiful being located as an outside storefront in the Park Meadows Mall area. Walking into the restaurant, the greeters immediately made eye contact and looked up our reservations. We were seated swiftly and our waiter, William presented a “Happy Birthday!” card signed by the chef. Definitely a nice touch.

We both had nothing to eat up until this point and we’re basically famished. As a result, we were open to suggestions regarding what food we should get. William helped run through the entire menu and recommended a plethora of options. Taking his feedback into consideration, we went with the following options.

Side note: William was a phenomenal server. Very attentive and always made sure we had plenty of water. Also his relatability with the patrons is a 10/10. The customer service was some of the best we’ve received at a restaurant.

For starters we decided on getting the steak & tater tater bites along with the cherry pepper calamari. My wife also ordered a glass of white wine.

For the main course my wife ordered the medium-well filet mignon & three-cheese Mac & cheese.

I ordered the $99 New York Strip Flight that consisted of 3 - 2 oz. High-End Steak Options: Texas Kobe-Style Wagyu Beef, Nebraska Prime Certified Angus & True Japanese A-5 Wagyu Beef.

I also failed to mention that there is complimentary bread and butter which my wife really liked.

The steak & tater totter bites offered a unique taste when bitten into. The creamy sauce on top along with the crispy hash brown and juicy steak is an experience to say the least. Creamy and crunchy in one bite, this appetizer is definitely for the more adventurous pallet. We both enjoyed it!

The cherry pepper calamari was all for me. My wife isn’t a fan of seafood so I was very excited to try calamari. Coming back from Italy, I was afraid that the quality of fish would be a massive downfall from what I had in Europe. It didn’t let me down. This calamari is the best I’ve had in the USA! The cherry peppers added a great flavor combination with the fried calamari. The calamari itself tasted fresh and was not just massively covered in breading - which is a massive plus.

My wife loved her filet. Very juicy and filling with a nice touch of char, it offered a different filet experience that she’s rarely ever had. She also enjoyed her Mac & cheese but couldn’t finish either of her entree or side.

I was initially hesitant on the $99 NY Strip flight as it looked more or a marketing play than anything else, but seeing that I’ve never had Wagyu before - I had to splurge.

All 3 steaks did not disappoint.

The Japanese Wagyu offered a hearty steak of the three but offered the least amount of flavor in my opinion. Still a great steak.

The Texas Kobe-Style Wagyu offered a butter-foreword taste that allowed the fat of the butter to be the star. This tender steak delivered on bringing fantastic taste.

The star of the three though was the Nebraska Prime Certified Angus. This steak was the most tender steak I’ve ever had and quite frankly was the best steak I’ve ever had - even if it’s just a few bites. Once bitten into the meat just melts in your mouth.

Finally we decided to end the night right with the seasonal cheesecake which happened to be the orange cheesecake.

How was it? “This is the best cheesecake I’ve ever had” was the wife’s comment on this cheesecake. Unlike other cheesecakes, this one is light and airy which allowed us to share and enjoy this cheesecake and not feel overly full.

We ended up having plenty of leftovers with the calamari, wife’s filet mignon & Mac & cheese.

If you haven’t made reservations yet after reading this, I don’t know what you’re waiting for. Come here if you’re seeking a high-end experience that doesn’t sacrifice on quality and...

My perspective is for Business Meetings or Events: pick another spot! I want to share an experience I recently had with the restaurant manager, whose name is Rob, who is unfortunately an arrogant, self-centered, idiot. I don’t write restaurant reviews often, but my customers see me as a trustworthy and easy going business partner. So I am happy to share this for the restaurant manager, Rob.

If you are bringing your important customers to host a dinner event, please choose Del Frisco’s, Ocean Prime, Fogo, Shanahan’s, or any of the other nice spots around DTC. Perry’s may upset your customers and cause you nothing but frustration.

For our event, we went through a normal process of room selection, contract negotiations, and menu selection as you would with most places.

My colleague and I were very clear about what we needed. Based on their menu selection, we asked for a simple process. It was an hour long speaker program where we asked for appetizers out to get our attendees seated, soups/salads to follow after the program starts, an entree while the presentation was going on, and deserts for questions after and as we finish up. Only serving 10-15 people and all attendee orders were placed before the program started. Our event manager agreed that this would be no problem and is common for them.

Two things went wrong with their service, their servers were young and did not offer our attendees anything to drink. They only served water when we paid for all inclusive, limiting alcohol. But unfortunately, they did not bring out our entrees until AFTER our program ended, well over an hour later we all had food in front of us.

This was disappointing. People took their main entree to go, which shows how long it was. Customers will not trust us for our future dinners, which are already stressful enough for us. Deserts weren’t even an option for some because they were gone. This left us looking unprofessional and our customers left not happy because of Perry’s poor service, especially for what we asked for and were expecting.

We gave feedback to the Perry’s manager that night, for Krista (events manager) throughout the following days, as well as Rob, who is the restaurant manager. We were not livid, but we were upset. That shouldn’t have happened.

The event manager assured me she would change the price, but her manager completely stopped her from doing anything. Is what it is, the manager stopped her so I wanted to speak to him.

When almost two weeks went by, I finally got to speak with the manager, Rob. I was very clear but annoyed that I had to now explain the situation to a third person.

Despite us being told from the events manager that our process was “common” and they could do it no problem. Rob, who was ignorant and self-centered, continued to tell me I was in the wrong. He said their food comes out at intervals of 20 min (apps, soup/salad, entree, dessert) and that is “standard process”. “Standard process” was unfortunately never communicated to us, nor is that what our events manager and I agreed on. Fortunately to their cameras, he admitted to the food coming out at intervals of OVER 30 minutes between each course.

But I was still in the wrong, according to Rob. Nothing changed on our price or future business, and he wasn’t willing to even talk with his managers moving forward about their processes because it was not communicated or agreed with me. It’s almost historical how ridiculous he was.

We all will live from these situations, but I would never recommend their stressful and unpredictable service. Shanahan’s and Del Frisco’s will give you a way better bang for your buck at $125 a person for an event.

Perry’s is about process over people, with horrible service and over-priced food. Big problem in businesses today with decent people but horrible managers these days. Good luck to the next events and the nightmare of a manager, Rob, who probably managed Applebee’s in his...

"An Almost Perfect Anniversary at Perry's Steakhouse"

My wife and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary at Perry’s Steakhouse at Park Meadows Mall on August 17, 2024. We had a 6:30 PM reservation and opted for patio seating, hoping for a romantic evening under the stars. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated, and we were pleasantly surprised to find red flower petals adorning our table—a thoughtful nod to our special occasion, as I had mentioned it when booking the reservation. This attention to detail made a great first impression.

However, after a few moments on the patio, we realized that the warmth was more than we anticipated, and we felt the ambiance would be better indoors. Sam, our server, was incredibly accommodating, reassuring us that it was no inconvenience to move us inside while keeping us in her section. Within two minutes, our new table was ready, complete with the same lovely flower petals—a gesture that further exceeded our expectations.

Our excitement grew as we placed our orders. On Sam’s recommendation, we started with the pork skewers, which were delightful, and we followed with the bone-in tomahawk ribeye, Oscar style. The presentation was beautiful, and the aroma was mouthwatering. However, we soon realized that the ribeye did not arrive "Oscar" style, missing the crab, béarnaise sauce, and asparagus. Sam was quick to apologize and offered to bring the missing components, but we decided to simply have the check reflect the error.

Despite this, the ribeye was cooked to perfection, and even with the two of us sharing, we had a significant amount left to enjoy the next day. Unfortunately, as Sam and a colleague were packing up our leftovers, they accidentally knocked our tomahawk ribeye onto the floor. We were heartbroken; it was such a wonderful steak, and losing it felt like a real blow. Sam assured us that the kitchen would replace it with a similarly sized steak, and we continued to enjoy our evening with coffee and a complimentary dessert.

As we settled in with our coffee, another small hiccup occurred—no spoons to stir in our cream and sugar. It took a gentle reminder to Sam to bring them over, a small but noticeable oversight. After finishing our meal, we tipped 20%, feeling that we were fairly compensated for the earlier mishaps.

However, when we arrived home, we were disappointed to find that the replacement steak was nowhere near the size of what we had left—closer to 10 ounces rather than the substantial portion we originally had. This felt like a final letdown after an evening that started with so much promise.

Perry's, you came close to making our anniversary truly special. The atmosphere, the service, and the food were all excellent, but the small mistakes added up, detracting from what could have been a perfect evening. At $300 for a meal we look forward to once a year, we expected everything to be just right. We’re still searching for our go-to place, and while Perry’s almost hit a home run, getting the little things right and going the extra mile would have made all...
