We decided to hit up Yard House before enjoying a comedy show in Denver. Upon arrival, we were seated swiftly and the staff was attentive. The menu is pretty overwhelming with the plethora of options to choose from. We were able to snag a couple of appetizers during happy hour. Their special was buy one get one 50% off and we capitalized with ordering the Four Cheese Spinach Dip & Fried Calamari. The Four Cheese Spinach Dip is a typical dish that didn’t disappoint. The Fried Calamari came with two sauces. The warm red “tomato” sauce elevates the appetizer. The sauce complimented the lemon wedge and calamari well. The calamari was a nice balance between breading and fish. I was pleasantly surprised for a chain restaurant! The main courses ordered were the Classic Cheeseburger & Whiskey Glazed Salmon. The Classic Cheeseburger was exactly why my wife wanted. A well-made burger that had a consistent medium-well cook. She mentioned how this finally was a burger “that satisfied the burger craving”. The truffle fries were the side dish ordered and they delivered a traditional fry taste without the oil residue. The Whiskey Glazed Salmon I ordered was a winner. The actual whiskey glaze tastes very brown sugar forward which I loved. The salmon itself was cooked well, warm and had a consistent tender taste throughout each bite. The onion rings were fried and buttered well. Onion rings can be hit or miss at food establishments but these delivered. The “generous” quantity of onion rings was also nice to see! The root vegetables side satisfied the “healthy” aspect of the dish. Overall, we enjoyed our appetizers and dinner entrees. We would recommend trying Yard House out if you are in town.

This place is big and busy, but you wouldn't know it by the attentiveness of our waitress or the speed of our food being served. Kudos to Yardhouse for great lunch service on a Sunday. I had a 20 oz. ribeye with broccoli, mashed potatoes, and a $5 add-on of grilled shrimp to make it a surf and turf. I was shocked at the quality of the steak (which was cooked right on the money @ medium rare). It was just as good if not better than some actual steakhouses I've eaten at. The sides were all great as well. The wife had their Poke Nachos, which I sampled and can say were damn tasty. She concurs. This appetizer took up more table space than my steak plate. The ahi was seared perfectly, the wontons were like air crisp tortilla chips, the avocado was plentiful, and the serranos were fresh. The sauce was an amalgamation of white truffle sauce, sweet soy ginger sauce, and sriracha aïoli. It's a beautiful flavor combination. To wash it down, we had their passion fruit tea and peach tea, neither of which disappointed. I often hate Park Meadows mall restaurants, but Yardhouse knocked it out of the park on this meal. We shall return!

When Yard House is not busy, their service is awesome. The bar staff are super friendly and upbeat. But let me tell you, once it gets busy, they are hugely understaffed. I sat for no less than 10-15 minutes at the bar waiting for someone to even make eye contact with me. They are so busy running tickets for tables, they forget there are people at the bar. Then when I finally got acknowledged, I ordered a lager (light and clear in color), yet when they delivered the beer it was instantly obvious that it was not a lager, it was an IPA (not clear and much darker in color). I get mistakes happen, but again a very understaffed bar contributes to unnecessary mistakes. Then don't bother complaining because it will take another 10 minutes to get acknowledged. I like this place, just not when it's busy. Great beer selection and decent food overall. Yard House can afford to staff up during peak hours but I guess corporate greed forces them to compromise an excellent customer experience. On a positive note, this is one of the very few places in Colorado that serves Barmen Pilsner. Highly recommended (pictured)!

I wanted to give this location a second chance since the first time I came here was around Christmas time and the experience was horrible. From the service to the food, my first time was just awful. But I'm always up to giving a restaurant another try, so I did. Went here last night for a date night. We got seated pretty quickly which was good. However, that's where it stopped being good. I ordered a tequila shot, asked the waitress what she recommended since I didn't want Patron due to cost. She didn't seem like she knew what to recommend and was a little lost. When she finally brought out our drinks, my shot was in a regular glass and was probably twice as much liquid as it should be. I asked her why it was so much and she said because it was chilled and due to that it's watered down....? What? Never heard of that before, but cool, we moved on. We ordered the cheese curds as an appetizer. Don't order these! They weren't great and they were kinda soggy too. So I ordered the Sesame Chicken Bowl which was almost $18. First off, the girl who brought it out was not our waitress and she didn't even say anything when dropping our plates off, she just put them right on the edge of the table. I almost accidentally knocked it off when I turned around because she didn't say anything when she put them down. When I saw it, it didn't look like it should even be close to an $18 entree. It didn't taste that great either, it tasted like they had burned the rice and then just added a bunch of teriyaki sauce to try and cover up the burnt flavor. Horrible dish. I took a few bites and decided it was too gross to eat. When our waitress finally came over to check on us, I told her about my plate and that I didn't want it due to those above reasons. She looked at the entree and said it wasn't even the correct thing....wow. At least she asked if I wanted something else. I said no. I was already done with the whole experience. After I declined anymore food and asked her to remove the entree from the bill, the service went even more downhill. It's not my fault the food was bad but we were kind of ignored like it was our fault. The manager didn't even come out to ask about things. So, overall, horrible second time and I will not be coming here for a 3rd time or anytime actually. I do not recommend this location at all, for...

Our server was absolutely great! Thanks Jules! The manager on duty sucked big time! Heather was as bad as Jules was great! Heather caters to other customers and I'll explain. My party was sitting by the windows enjoying people watching and all of a sudden the blinds came down. We asked Jules what was going on so she had Heather come over. Heather explained the window was causing a glare on one of the TVs so the folks several tables away from us asked her to close the blinds which she did without asking my party who was sitting by the windows if we would mind. Then she asked 'OK what's wrong with the burger?' We were like, what? We didn't say anything about our food so what was Heather trying to imply? Heather's actions and attitude made us feel so unwelcome as well as uncomfortable we asked for to go boxes and was getting ready to leave when Jules asked whose BD, my daughter n law's, so she bought her out a chocolate cake/brownie with ice cream and Happy Birthday written on the plate! Jules went above and beyond to smooth everything out! Heather needs to take some notes from Jules! It was a very unpleasant experience because of Heather's inconsiderate behavior! Who knows if I'll...
