I bought my wedding dress at Nordstrom Park Meadows but the bridal suite closed after my purchase. I wasn't able to attend my last fitting because my fiance (now husband) was diagnosed with advanced colon cancer two months before the wedding, and I live in Boston (even though I'm from Colorado and was having the wedding in Colorado). The Park Meadows managers agreed to ship my wedding dress overnight to a Nordstrom in Natick near Boston so I could have my final fitting, but they messed up the shipping and did ground versus overnight shipping. I spent many hours on the phone with UPS and 1-800 Nordstrom representatives who said the box was marked wrong and the solution was to have the store recall the package and have it reshipped as overnight air. I left many emails and messages with the store and received zero follow-up. The dress did not arrive for another seven days -- when it should have come in one day --making for a tight timeline to get alterations done (I had to schedule the alteration appointment around my fiance's colon removal surgery and chemo treatments).
When the dress did arrive to the Natick store, I got to the store for a scheduled fitting only to find out that the dress had been lost. After an hour and a meltdown from me, they were able to recover it from a shipping container, but it was poorly packaged. Not to risk losing the dress again, I flew back with the dress and brought the dress to Nordstrom Park Meadows to be pressed. They said that the dress would be un-bustled so that I could have it ready for the wedding. Come day of the wedding I pull the dress out of the cover bag to put it on, and the dress is fully bustled (everyone knows that you do not wear a bustled wedding gown until the reception at the end of the night). My mother had to quickly undo the complex bustle while my photographer and videographer waited. Unfortunately, she missed un-bustling a section unbeknownst to me and the dress ended up with extra volume where it shouldn't have been and you can see it in all my pictures. This should not have been an issue at all if the dress was properly un-bustled as promised.
All in all, I had a terrible experience. Being a bride is stressful in and of itself. Being a bride and having to track down your wedding dress while dealing with the emotional roller coaster of discovering that your fiance has cancer, is next...
Read moreMy mom and I had a horrible customer service experience tonight while shopping in the active wear area on the third floor at Nordstrom Park Meadows. It started when we both asked for a dressing room. I was escorted to my room right away by a lady associate, but my mom was still browsing so needed some time before going into hers. The same associate said she would just put my mom’s clothes in a dressing room so when she was ready, she could just go in. However, we were not told that my mom’s clothes would be put in an entirely different dressing room, opposite of the one I was in, so we spent several minutes wandering around looking for her clothes. Why we were placed in two entirely different dressing rooms is beyond me, but the original lady that was helping us was nowhere to be found so at this point, my mom decided to ask a different lady associate for assistance. This is where we were met with rudeness and incompetence. When my mom asked the new associate which dressing room her clothes were in, she replied “it’s over there”, as if that was specific enough. We clearly still did not know which room it was so she had to walk us over to it, doing so with an irritated demeanor. Once my mom was FINALLY showed her dressing room, I decided to wait outside her door for her to which I caught the new associate eavesdropping on us. My mom and I were in the middle of a conversation when I turned around and seen the associate literally run out of the dressing room, as to not get caught spying on us. I’m not sure if she was being nosey or if she was assuming we were stealing, regardless, I have never experienced customer service like that at any other store before. There are appropriate ways to check in on customers, but creepily and awkwardly standing behind them in silence, and then running out the room when getting caught, is not one of them lol. The whole situation was uncomfortable and awkward and it should have been handled differently. It’s unfortunate because I do have a credit card at Nordstrom, however, I will definitely be doing my shopping at other locations...
Read moreTheir 'personal stylist' service is a joke. Seriously needed help and called to set up appt. No one answered in that department. Called back about an hour later and the operator paged someone. The person who picked up said she was a stylist but was 'busy' at the moment - with a 'client' - and took my name and phone # - scheduled me for two days later and said she would call me back as soon as she was finished with appt. No call. Next day I called back. Asked to confirm that I had an appt and asked where I was supposed to go to meet someone in that department. The 'assistant to the stylists' answered the phone - claimed there was no appt for me - so she scheduled me AGAIN for the next day - even though I requested the day after. Told me I would be with one stylist. About 2 hours later, I get a call from another 'stylist' who claims I'm now supposed to meet with her and can I come in 1/2 hour earlier. Whatever. It turns out - the person I met with was just a salesperson - she was virtually no help at all - abandoned me to choose my own dresses - was insincerely complimentary about the most horrid dresses - did not listen to my input at all - was, in total, no help - barely spent 10 minutes out of 70 minutes with me. Then, would not leave me alone in the dressing room to try on my own clothes (I'm modest about these things). She just didn't 'get it'. I would never recommend this Nordstrom service to anyone - quite the opposite, as a matter of fact. The selection of nicer dresses was very poor. Everything was frilly and sleeveless or blingy or matronly or just the same dress in different colors. Very few simple, elegant dresses to choose from - virtually nothing in a long dress except prom-like dresses or over-the-top evening gowns - or strapless summer things. It was a bad experience. A waste of time. And I took off time from my job to do this!!! I went to Dillards after leaving there and found more options by myself than a 'personal stylist' at Nordstrom was able to find for me. That's a...
