Yes, LaTea was not officially opened until the end of the month, but could not resist my urge to visit it during their soft opening. Some background information that differentiated it from others. First of all, the boba was made in house using the old recipe of the grandmother of the founder, so not only the boba was fresh, but it also had the nostalgic texture. Secondly, the teas were freshly brewed and the most tea leaves were sourced from the tea farms in Taichung, Taiwan or Yunnan, China. Thirdly, the brown sugar was from Mexico and the syrup was also freshly prepared in the store. Overall, it was a more nostalgic combination of teas, boba and brown sugar as they supposed to be, nothing overtaking the flavor of the other, without artificial additives to juice up the flavor. Here are their Roasted Brown Sugar Milk Tea with House Made Brown Sugar Boba, Matcha Latte with Creme Brulee, Fresh Grapefruit Jasmine Tea with House Made Longan Honey Boba, Taiwan Oolong Tea and Tiramisu Milk Tea. Both sugar and ice levels could be adjusted according to personal preference. Although the selection was limited during the soft opening, but was already quite impressed. Certainly a gem in the Park...
Read moreI brought my family here for the first time today. I've been here once before and haven't been since.
I love the location, it's convenient to stop by to grab your boba fix to go shopping. As you walk in, a giant greenery wall greats you. I love their interior. They have free wifi so if you ever need to place to go to catch up an emails, you can come here. Although it's not the most quietest.
Service was a little slower today since they were busy. I didn't mind at all. Our cashier told us as we were checking out which I really appreciated.
I love how their menu is simple without making the menus too complicated. You can also decide how much sugar, ice and what type of dairy you want in your drink.
I will warn you, the caffeine in the boba is intense compared to other boba shops. We all felt jittery. I would be mindful of ordering what kind of drink you want for your kids if you're not a huge caffeine fan. These boba drinks do taste like tea, hence LaTea.
They have a small claw machines in the back which surprised me since they didn't have it there last...
Read more3/18/23-First off this place is higher priced then similar drink places near by, there is even a cheaper boba drinks in the mall's food court. The quality is ok. Since it was a soft opening they had a very limited drink menu you could pick from. We picked the ube cream brulee since we love ube so much. This place can not balance the drink flavors. All you got was the creamy, eggy flavor of the brulee with no ube flavor. The only way to get any ube flavor was to open the cup, directly stick your finger into the purple part, and then you got a super light ube flavor. As they say on the Food Network don't say a flavor is in something unless you bring the flavor and there is no question of it. I think I will give this place one more try in the future once they have their full menu up and running. Also just as a side note one of the bathrooms had the toilet paper dispenser not really within arms reach...
