I had high hopes for the Geek Squad, even though I think their protection plan is outright thievery. For $200 per year I could save up and buy a pretty decent new computer every three years. So anyway, I opted for the one-time service fee of $130 (approximately). My computer was running slow, so that was a thing, but my main problem was that I couldn't print anything using my wireless printer. In fact I couldn't even plug the printer directly into my computer and print anything. The only thing I could do was transfer files to a flash drive and print from another computer. The Geek Squad had me bring in both my computer and my printer, and after five days they told me it was fixed and that I could now print wirelessly from my computer. Only, I can't. The printer still works fine with our desktop, but I can't access it from my computer. So I called and tried to get help, since they said they have a 30 day warranty on their work. My options now are to lose the use of my computer and printer AGAIN for who knows how many days (I need them both every day) or pay even more money to have someone help me over the phone or internet. I can't afford to lose any more days without my computer, and I certainly can't afford to pay more money in hopes that someone can help me remotely. So, my money was wasted. I believe that they did in fact fix the problem. However, I also believe that they failed to tell me some vital piece of information I need in order to get my computer and printer working together. I refuse to pay more money or lose any more work time over this. I am back to transferring everything to a flash drive and I will never use the Geek...
Read moreI needed to schedule and appointment with the Geek Squad to repair a problem with our computer / projector interface. First I had to work through about 2 minutes of listening to a recorded voice tell me to pick an option. I picked an option and was transferred to a help center in Central America. After describing the problem to them they finally agreed they couldn't help me and transferred me to another help center in Central America who tried to schedule an appointment after they agreed they couldn't help me. After about 30 minutes on the phone I was no better off than when I first called.
I had to edit this review. A member of the Geek Squad did contact me and quickly realized my situation. When they arrived on site they were prepared and very knowledgeable. In less than an hour they had identified the problem and corrected it onsite. They were very helpful and polite and yes i will use them again and do recommend them to others. ...
Read moreI recently purchased 4 computers and 1 laptop for my business, and the guy helping me informed me about technical support. That Geek squad will be able to come out for one year for $200 to help me with anything I need like setting up printers and such. I questioned him multiple times about the printers, because that was my main concern and he informed me that the $200 would cover it for one year. When I called to get it set up, the told me it would cost $50 for them to come out and hook up a printer. I spoke with the manager and he said that was correct. Even after I told him that this information was not given to me, he said there was nothing he could do, so they need to make sure all their employees know what they are talking about before helping customers so now I wasted $200 that they refuse to reimburse me. They have lost my respect and a lot of...
