Don Benito’s Mexican Cafe — Restaurant in Longview

As a family of 4 that always orders the same meal every time we come, our food is always $40. Got the check and it was $53 this time with no one attempting to make us aware that they raised all their prices including their kid meals which where $6.99 and are now almost $9!! That is insane for a kids plate that literally is from the dollar section of the grocery store. I talked to the manager about it and she said the company refuses to send them updated menus with their raised prices on it so we as customers basically just have to eat the extra cost and they won’t do anything about it. We should at least have a warning because that would definitely help us decide what we will and won’t order. The plate I usually get has always been $9.99. It’s now $13.49 although that’s what the TICKET says not the MENU. All menu prices are wrong so expect to pay 2-3$ more per plate you order. We usually come almost every week after church but we will not be returning. Papacitas is better anyway and almost half the price. Rude “manager” and do not value their customers or even offer an apology for the non-updated prices and a slap in the face when you have to pay almost $15 extra. Very unprofessional. Not a very great experience. Had some fajitas, with rice, beans and pico de gallo. It was less then appetizing. Fajitas tasted like some pre-cooked Walmart fajitas out of a bag. Beans were an odd soggy texture. My fiancé had a big wet burrito and It definetly lives up to its name. Basically just swimming in what looked like chilli sauce (or bean juice as she called it). I asked her if she could take my fajitas off the bill and she said she would only take half off. I said no, I haven’t hardly eaten any. I’m not paying for this. The person that was in front of us had a massive argument about margaritas and how she didn’t want another one and to take the other one off her bill. The lady went to the bathroom and the waitress began talking smack about her customer, almost right in front of us. The only good thing I saw was one waiter who was taking charge and telling the other waiters what to do, and really took care of his customers and others customers. Some tall white boy with red hair. We paid $13 for this meal (had 2 of the same meal so $26 total) and this meal normally only came with 2 “street tacos” so one of the 3 was extra on both meals. (Total Bill was $54.70 with chips/sauce/wife’s food) These tacos are so extremely small and for the amount that was paid is insane. We tried to bring the food back the moment we opened them and didn’t even want a refund just for a different menu item that was not significantly small. We were told only the GM could authorize that since it would be free food and nothing was wrong with our order. Keep in mind these 2 meals were for myself and my brother and we eat a lot. We were told nothing could be done today and would have to wait for the GM to return since the managers that are there can’t make that decision. So we now have to go pay even more money to go get more food since there was hardly anything to eat.
