It’s a little cute place and we wanted to love it so much. Unfortunately there were several issues with our experience. We had the pan fried dumplings as an appetizer which were quite good, although I’m fairly certain they were the same ones you can buy in the frozen section of a grocery store (we eat them often, so I’m pretty good at spotting them lol). We also had a side of noodles as an appetizer which were rather plain but not bad, and the sauces they came with were good. Something we noticed right away was that the service was rather slow, which always concerns me at a sushi place- especially since we were the only table seated in the restaurant right at opening time on a Sunday. You’d think they’d be prepared to sling some food pretty quickly. The sushi rolls were decent. We had the Rocky Mountain roll which has steak in it, just to try something different. It was meh, but there was definitely store bought fiesta blend pre-shredded cheese on top of it. Another non-house made element, and disappointing. We also had a Caterpillar roll, one slice of which still had a good sized amount of plastic wrap around it. The worst part was that we were met with chuckles from The staff when we pointed out the plastic wrap. That poses a significant choking hazard and I was frustrated at the flippant attitude displayed by the staff. We will not be back. In my personal opinion, nothing in...
Read moreWe went into this with high hopes. We were the first ones in about 15 minutes after they opened at 11. Things seemed hopeful at first. We ordered 2 simple appetizers (noodles and fried dumplings) and it took about 15 minutes or more to get them. They were good but its hard to mess that up. We placed our 2 roll sushi order....rocky mountain (not good) and caterpillar (decent). The wait for those 2 seemed like an eternity. Our patience was wearing a little thin. Upon receiving our sushi, the caterpillar roll still had a large piece of saran wrap still stuck to one of the pieces. We removed it and ate our food. When we finished, I kindly let the waitress know about the plastic and showed it to her. She said "oh, im sorry" and then the lady who made the rolls was laughing about it. I didn't request a discount but I did inform them to watch out for that because thats dangerous. Maybe even a little discount for the dangerous mistake would have been nice to see when we recieved the check. We will never be back. This experience was unsettling and very unprofessional. I expected so much more from this place than we recieved. Fuji will always be our go to sushi place in Longview due to this neglegent experience. Far superior food and service. Evergreen is a close 2nd. Its the laughing about leaving saran wrap that really set the tone for...
Read moreThis was my first and definitely not my last visit here. During my first layover here in GGG (Longview, TX) I decided to browse the area of restraunts through Google. I am so glad I came across Sushico. There was nothing I didn't like. From the affordable prices to the quality of the ingredients and food, to the flavor, the colors of the fresh ingredients and beautiful artistic presentation when brought to the table not to forget the welcoming atmosphere, mellow music and great customer service. Everything was above satisfactory and I look forward to many more layovers where I will be sure to visit Sushico and try more of the items on the menu. While being welcomed in and sat down, a bowl of hot hibachi style soup was dropped off while I browsed the menu. For my appetizer I ordered the crab angels (similar to crab rangoon), a couple sushi rolls to include the veggie roll (which was absolutely delicious), the caterpillar roll, w/ 2 piece tamago nigiri (sweet rolled egg omelet) and for my entrée the asian panang curry. Again there was nothing I didn't like. Everything was amazing. Only suggestion (not a complaint) is the curry should include potatoes and carrots to give the dish that substance it's lacking. Please enjoy the pictures and videos I captured during my...
