If I could leave zero stars, I would. My daughter, a part time Maurice's employee was injured on the job resulting in a broken wrist. At the time of the injury, my daughter was unboxing freight in the back of the store when a large box that was above her fell down, crushing her right wrist. My daughter immediately went to the assistant store manager, Cayla, and let her know what had happened as my daughter was not able to locate the store manager Sharon, so instead let Cayla know. My daughter did eventually make contact with Sharon and let her know that she had injured her wrist while unloading freight. Sharon handed my daughter a piece of paper with an 800 number on it and told her good luck getting ahold of someone on a Saturday, which is completely unprofessional and flat out unsympathetic. Sharon never asked my daughter how she was doing, if she needed to get to a doctor, never looked at her wrist or even offered a pack of ice to help with the rapid swelling/bruising of her wrist. Instead, Sharon had my daughter go back to work when she was in obvious discomfort. My daughter called me and told me what happened. I asked her, what is their policy and procedure for workplace injuries. My daughter stated that she was given a piece of paper with an 800 number on it and it went to voicemail when she called it. I at this time told my daughter to leave work immediately and get to the ER for an evaluation of her workplace injury. After sitting at the hospital for 6 hours, a right wrist fracture was diagnosed via imaging and the potential of needing surgery to the wrist was discussed by the physician to my daughter. I called Maurice's the same night my daughter sustained the wrist fracture and Sharon answered the phone. I wanted to get some clarification on what Maurice's policy is for employee injuries. Sharon was not able to give me any specifics on how she handles injuries in the store besides giving out the 800 number. I asked Sharon if she ever offered my daughter any ice for her wrist and Sharon replied "No, I didn't. I don't keep ice in this store." I asked Sharon if she ever offered to get my daughter help or call me (most places of employment keep a binder of emergency contacts for things such as this), maybe call 911 or offer a ride to the ER or urgent care. My daughter drives a stick shift and is right-handed- she had to drive herself to the ER after sustaining a wrist break in Sharon's store. My daughterâs wrist was very swollen, immediately bruised and she could not move/rotate the wrist at all. Sharon's demeanor when hearing that my daughter had sustained a break in her wrist was indifferent, insensitive, emotionless, careless and without ANY empathy. Sharon kept insisting that my daughter was not unloading freight correctly and that is how she sustained a broken wrist. No one was helping my daughter unload freight, so saying she was doing it incorrectly is completely baseless. My daughter has worked at this store for 8 months and was very familiar with how she should unload freight. Sharon never assumed any responsibility for forcing my daughter to return to work after she just broke her wrist, never once said sincerely I am sorry for what happened to my daughter, instead blaming my daughter over and over for her wrist injury. This is obviously an unfortunate event for my daughter but what is even scarier is that this company has no policy in place for injuries such as these and if there is a policy in place, this particular emotionless employee, Sharon, has no concept of how to handle a medical emergency in the store...
Read moreFirst time at this location, the staff yelled hello across the store, then totally ignored me. So different from any other locations that I have been to. I carried a huge stack around the store, walked right past multiple employees but they never offered to start a room for me. I tried on and had to walk back across the store multiple times for different sizes/options before finally being asked if I needed anything. I bought a couple of things (I went in for my regular, staple, jeans), but was so disappointed, I don't think I'll be back to this location, even though it's well stocked and has a good layout. I would understand if it was a busy day, but I was the only customer in the store the whole time...
Read moreI was in the store on a Sunday 3 employees standing behind the desk not helping anyone . I brought my 17 year old granddaughter in there for the 1st time . They did not greet us or help us get a room all the rooms had cloths in them that someone had tried on. I asked the manager for another size in a sweater to see if they have it in the back. She very rudely said no we don't but I can order it on line for you . I said I'll do it myself she turned around and walked away. When I went to pay she turned her back on me and I had to wait for the other gal to come back. The manager is always so rude I will drive to Vancouver Mall from now on . Zero stars...
