The best deep tissue massage for the best price. It's definitely a no frills kind of place, don't expect anything bougie, but $45 for an hour combo massage and actually feeling healed is more than what you get from places that charge more than double. The only down side is the beds are fabric and the idea of putting my face in to the hole when laying down where so many faces have gone gives me anxiety so I like to use a natural lavender sanitizer spray where my face goes. I tried wearing a mask, but I suffocate. Henry and Tony are the best but just know that they do not have a receptionist so Henry takes all the calls and sometimes leaves to greet people but he's literally the best so it's worth the interuptions and that's how they keep pricing there so affordable. There is always plenty of parking, and not once have I ever felt like anyone was inappropriate. They have always been so professional. They do have a sign that asks politely for at least a $10 tip, but they have never asked me for a tip because I've always given them $20 dollars cash. I think it's really sad that people are complaining that in the past they have asked for a tip maybe it's because they were cheap and if these hard working people have to put their hands on your body to help you heal then by all means you should be tipping way more than $10! Especially with how cheap the massage already is.
Update: I still feel the same way about this place, and Henry is the best. Someone said he doesn't have a good feel for the human body, but I've never told him where my complaints are yet he seems to know exactly where I'm hurting and focuses on that area longer, in my opinion he is very skilled and intuitive. Also, he's always busy and in demand, so it's best you call and make an appointment these days. He's popular for a reason. Just don't be a sissy because he will beat up your knots in the best...
Read moreI stopped by the place and was lead into a large room filled with large reclining chairs. I was assigned a guy by the name of Jason (there seem to be another guy or two and a female working there). If you are familiar with Chinese foot massages it was the typical feet soaking in mineral water with upper body massage (while sitting), which includes neck, shoulders and back. The massage might be a bit too hard for some but it was what I needed -- I pretty sure he would have eased up if I had mentioned it. Then after a while with my arms up and my hands behind my head he lifted me up (!!) and it was as if my spine was straightened up (the joints popped into alignment). I have never had that technique done before but it was WOW. anyway, the chair was electronically reclined, I laid back and a cloth was put over my eyes (I believe I heard one other customer snoring). Jason proceeded to massage my arms and legs. After he was done (I asked for an hour) he left me alone until I was ready to get up -- no rush, which I liked - and given a cup of water.
The couple of things that I think would have improved the experience was to either have the water fountain sound going or the music but not both at the same time. Also, in other Chinese Foot Spas I was offered tea as I settled in.
However, I would go back as it was a good value and I left relaxed and feeling...
Read moreHenry, the phone guy, is my favorite therapist.
The difference between Asian style massage and western deep tissue/deep-Swedish is flow. A deep tissue therapist will warm up tissue to prepare it for the brutality that is coming. Not all deep tissue therapists warm muscles up though.
These massages, the stronger ones and more effective ones, they do not warm you up. So before I come in, I get relaxed by soaking in a very hot bath with magnesium salts and tea made from two cups of dried artemis. Then I head over smelling like a chinese herbal dispensary, lightly hit a vape pen and get beaten up therapeutically for 90 minutes. This helps my body accept the work offered here.
Henry is intuitive. He goes where I need without me asking. Also, he stays where I need when I ask him to. I do have to ask him to back off at times, which he does.
I leave $35-$50 for tip. This is important and how customers show their appreciation. These people work hard and their prices are truly bargains, but the harsh detail about affordable massage is that clients can be really cheap, ask for much and leave little. Bargain priced services depend on customer appreciation in the form of exceptional gratuities. 20% is tacky and anything less than $20 is crude and shows that the client has no regard for the...
