We travelled 5000 miles from the UK to stay in this hotel as geographically the location is fantastic, it's central to the main attractions and is great for local transportation routes.
There's just one thing - we didn't stay. We showed up for early check in and were greeted by an unprofessional male who was unwilling to assist us, and said that he would 'order a room to be made', we waited over half an hour for this to happen, whilst the gentlemen was watching videos on his phone.
We were then told, in relief to us, that there was a room available and we were all set for check in, so we go to use a revolut card, which is accepted however, the male wasn't happy because it came up with the name as ''personalised" on his system, so we tried another card and have three forms of identification; and low and behold... Denied. We offered cash also, but he didn't allow us to pay with cash, despite us observing him handle cash beforehand.
We had now missed three attractions on our first day in LA.
As the day went on we requested the managers phone number, of which it was denied to be given to us. We then proceeded to ask about the 'no debit cards' sign and was assured that they accept all types of cards, we were also assured that we handnt be charged.
After checking our bank account, we had been charged over $200 and hadn't even checked in, and upon questioning him about this; he became aggressive, loud and attempted to be intimidating, this happened twice. We were yelled at being told to leave his property even though we'd been charged for standing in the lobby.
Finally after a 3 hour wait for the manager, he showed up, and refused to help. Before we left we asked to see if there was any details of ours left on the system, and he told me that if I didn't trust him, he didn't trust me, and once again - was yelled at to get out.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, total inconvenience and we've been charged an extra $200 for 'not showing up', which we are appealing against. Also in our favour, the whole encounter was audio and video recorded.

Read moreA solid 3-star hotel! I wasn’t happy with the neighborhood on first arrival. It’s very iffy. Some homeless people, a lot of people in general, moving about, making noise. But it turned out to be very convenient for the price. It had a parking lot which was great. And it was very close to the Dolby where i was going. I walked there to work and didn’t need to move the car. And Ross is right across the street, Starbucks is right next door, a 24hr 711 and a 24hr Subway sandwich shop also across the Street. I also walked to Marshalls. Oh and I was a block away from In & Out!! Carpet was just shampood when i checked in and looked clean. Thank God. I cannot do dirty carpet! Bed linens were clean, white and decent. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was clean at first glance but dusty and dirty in corners, baseboards and window sills. The heat and A/C worked well. I had a fridge, microwave, iron, ironing board, a desk to work at. I could only get one channel on the nice big flatscreen tv - Comedy Central. I watched The Office and Parks and Rec marathons. Both great shows. Old episodes with a great cast of so so many folks who have gone on to become great actors. Chris Pratt, Rhetta, Rashida, Adam Scott and The Office’s Steve Carrell, Mindy Kaling, Ed Helms, Craig Robinson, John Krasinski, and Rainn Wilson. But I digress.
The rooms looked like their pictures online except the little things you don’t see in pictures - painted over uneven plaster, small cracks in the bathroom sink, loose shower knobs, scratches on the furniture.
The lobby was nicely remodeled. Next on their list should be the halls. The doors to the rooms have fresh brown paint over the dinks and dents. Hall tile is cracked. Tile was a bad idea...
Read moreThe name of this place has 'hotel' in it, but it should be re-categorized to a motel. The pros, first:
The beds were pretty comfortable The sheets and towels seemed clean The shower water was hot The staff was nice The location is awesome if you are a tourist visiting L.A. Chick-Fil-A, Burger King, IHOP and other convenient spots to grab a quick bite are within walking distance The TV had Dish, good channels to fall asleep to
The cons: The walls, baseboards, and doors are dingy, dirty, and falling apart; holes in the wall, our bathroom door didn't close all the way, and our main door had bright daylight shining through the cracks. In dire need of new weatherproofing strips around the door We were in a third floor room and the bathroom window had no latch or lock. Had we been on a second or first floor room, I would have requested a change. Not a safe situation. There is no sound proofing in these rooms. Luckily, we had a noisy wall air unit that we turned on to zone out the outside noise. Anyone walking by your room, you will hear loud and clear. Traffic noise on Sunset Blvd just outside the hotel sounds like it's right outside your room. We had multiple outlets in our room, only ONE actually worked. The lamp next to the bed didn't turn on, neither could we plug our phones into it. Completely dead outlets. Overall, everything at this place is falling apart. The pool looked like something out of a horror movie. The back window opens up to an abandoned lot, full of graffiti, weeds, and homeless paraphernalia. This place is fine if you just want to sleep and can overlook the details. It is falling apart and in dire need of a remodel...
