Completely horrible. I checked in around 7pm, the front desk worker "Rony" was rude from the beginning. And then when he noticed I had reserved the room with an employee rate, he wanted further proof and was asking for credentials that do not exist. He kept insisting and showing me a random packet saying that it's a requirement. I kept asking for me to read the packet and that I wanted a copy, and would only dismiss me and interrupt me every time I tried to speak. I also pointed out that I had called the hotel TWICE prior to coming and no one ever mentioned about me needing something else other than my ID to check in with an employee rate. He made me call the owner of the hotel I WORK IN, and that wasn't enough. He then proceeded to YELL AT HER. How embarrassing. Yelling at me, my boss, and my partner who was with me while checking in. He then THREATENED to kick me out because the owner lives in the property and if he told him to kick me out, that he would. I was completely baffled, I in no way was I rude back. I wish I would have voice recorded the whole interaction because it was honest to God the worst experience, but I was on call with my boss during all of this. (Turns out, YOU DO NOT NEED anything else to check in other than your ID, because the only way to get the employee rate is if the owner directly sends you a link to reserve the room, but I'm a new employee and it was my first time using the rate so I was not confident) After all of that, I did not want to leave my room in fear that he would yell at me again. I put up with it because I lived over 4 hours away. When we got to our room, I expected better especially seeing all those nice pictures online. The bathtub was all marked up and stained, and after my interaction with the front desk, I didn't feel safe to request a room change. We just didn't end up showering which really sucked. The paint throughout the room was chipped away The lamps, and chairs were all stained; I made sure to take pictures of it all so that I wouldn't get blamed and charged for it afterwards. In the morning, I did explain the situation with the new front desk and he was very kind. He was young and compassionate and relayed the situation to the owner who then compensated me with a refund. As an employee in the hotel industry, I have higher expectations when checking into a hotel. Of course, my experience here was more than awful. Will not be staying here again, even with the affordable price and...
Read moreWe stayed in two rooms over four nights for a quick visit to LA between Christmas and New Years 2022. The biggest positive here is the location. It is one block away from the walk of fame. Several of our outings were within walking distance. The desk staff was generally very pleasant and helpful. We appreciated that they were able to put us in adjacent rooms.||||We did have a few concerns. Our room was damaged: we had no toilet paper holder. They had repaired the wall, though still needed to do painting and installation of a toilet paper holder. This was only a minor inconvenience. Breakfast was free, but "grab and go" which meant you ask for a bag at the front desk, and they give you an assortment of 1 or 2 breakfast items that required microwaving (in the room), a pack of breakfast cookies, and a bottle of water. You make your own coffee in the room. In other words, the breakfast is adequate but unsatisfying. Our coffee maker was wonky - we had to hold the "on" button continuously for the water to flow through the filter. The temperature controls are motel-typical wall units, and it was not easy to get it right. We did have trouble with the room keys for the 2nd room going bad a few times, but that may have been our fault (keep your phone away from them, apparently), and the front desk promptly helped us with it. We asked for our rooms to be cleaned one day halfway through the stay, but only one got cleaned. We alerted the front desk and got the supplies we needed, and our room got cleaned the next day. ||||As a triathlete, it is my tradition to leave information for traveling athletes. There is no on-site gym, and the pool is tiny (and outdoors, so weather must permit recreational swimming). I have a membership to LA Fitness, which is two blocks away, and they have a 25 yard pool and plenty of exercise machines. Two people (both Quality Inn staff and LA Fitness staff) recommended Runyon Canyon for runners. This is about 0.4 miles from the hotel. Beware though - both the roads to the trail, and the trail itself, is straight up. I got nearly 1000 feet of elevation before turning around after 2.5 miles. The views are breathtaking and worth a hike, but I had to do the treadmill the next day. ||||All in all, this was not a bad experience, but I will probably part with a few more dollars the next...
