Ever made a honest and simple error? Ever called immediately afterwards to clarify the issue? Ever had an establishment refuse to refund you, even if NO work, I mean ZERO, had been done or compromised?
Well, this is the place for you!
I was trying to pick up a birthday cake for my son’s 10th birthday same day, and spoke to one of the stores earlier in the day that this would be possible to turn around since it was a pre-made cake and I wanted a very simple birthday message written on it.
When I went to place the order, I accidentally selected the wrong store, which I came to realize since I called immediately after I hit send, to confirm they received my order. The people at the store helped me realized I had placed the order mistakenly at the wrong location. They clarified that they had not touched the order and that they wouldn’t be able to add the birthday message I desired by the time I needed it.
So, I asked that they cancel, as I knew another BR could make it happen.
They told me it was company policy that they couldn’t refund me — despite literally getting a call from me moments after I sent the order (they hadn’t even seen my order come through until I called them about it). And again, most importantly - HAD NOT STARTED ON DOING ANY WORK. They said they’d put in the request to management and someone would get back to me.
I got off the phone and immediately ordered the cake from the right store. Due to some issues I was having on my phone, I accidentally ordered the cake again from the same incorrect store. Oh boy, ever have one of those days?!
After making sure my order had gone through at the right store and confirmed I’d be able to pick up my cake — I called the mistaken store back and explained that there were now 2 orders I was requesting a refund on. They laughed with me, said clearly it was a mistake - and said again, they’d put the request through to the manager since they were not authorized to refund me.
I woke up to an email from the manager saying they’d go ahead and cancel one of the orders but would not refund me for the second and that they would move forward fulfilling it, despite them knowing I didn’t want or need it anymore.
I am completely horrified by this response - this was clearly an error and I attempted to remedy it asap, and was told that there was clearly no work that would be wasted or product unused due to this error.
Not only are they refusing to refund me, but they are moving forward decorating a cake that I do not need. This means they are losing a customer and a product for no good reason.
We have been loyal customers to what I thought was a family friendly establishment.
Shame on you - with so many families struggling right now, — you are simply taking advantage of a family doing their best to celebrate their child’s birthday.
You have lost our family of customers today. Get your sensibilities in line and know when it goes against all logic to be so inflexible with your customers.
SHAME SHAME SHAME ON YOU.

A note to the manager’s note below - THIS IS UNTRUE. I spoke to one of your employees last night and they noted it as a cancellation. She also stated that they could not accommodate the original order because the cake artist had gone home for...
Read moreI ordered a Lakers cake for my daughter’s birthday, customized with her name and “Happy Birthday.” Our housekeeper picked it up, but when I got home, I saw it was an Atlanta Hawks cake without her name. Sean called me, insisting his order showed an Atlanta Hawks cake. I explained that made no sense—why would I order an Atlanta Hawks cake without my daughter’s name or “Happy Birthday” on it?
Sean claimed their website never has issues and that I was the first person ever to have a problem ordering, which is preposterous—clearly, every website experiences issues occasionally. He refused to acknowledge the possibility of an error on their end, repeatedly suggesting I was mistaken. Instead of offering to deliver the correct cake, he suggested I drive the incorrect cake back to the store to have it fixed—an unreasonable expectation just 30 minutes before the...
