Burro Venice — Local services in Los Angeles

Firstly, I'm from the southeast, Virginia to be exact. I don't do $145 tee-shirts or $221 drawstring cotton pants. Secondly, it's glaringly apparent some folks do. Here in the Abbot Kinney neighborhood, it's all about the bougie. This little store is chocked full of stationary, blank journals, sage, and various insense, candles and hand crafted jewerly, none of which is particularly unique and all can be purchased for half the price or less elsewhere, but I suppose it's more meaningful if purchased here? I was always taught that the rich live like the poor in the poor live like the rich....

Just stopped by Buro (October 31, 2025, around 4:15 p.m.) while I’m on holiday at my family’s house. I love the shop, but it was so disappointing to see the two employees giving me dirty looks just because I was speaking French with my partner. They were whispering about all the customers in the store. It made me so uncomfortable that I left, even though I had planned to buy quite a few things to bring back to France....

Burro is an absolute gem! I can't stop coming back here, especially when I have a birthday party or dinner to go to.
