Firstly, I'm from the southeast, Virginia to be exact. I don't do $145 tee-shirts or $221 drawstring cotton pants. Secondly, it's glaringly apparent some folks do. Here in the Abbot Kinney neighborhood, it's all about the bougie. This little store is chocked full of stationary, blank journals, sage, and various insense, candles and hand crafted jewerly, none of which is particularly unique and all can be purchased for half the price or less elsewhere, but I suppose it's more meaningful if purchased here? I was always taught that the rich live like the poor in the poor live like the rich....
