the room and view and whole hotel in it self was a good experience. the rooms was clean, the view was beautiful and the roof top bar was cool. the issue is the customer service! First day we had room service come while we was gone I had some Prada shades come up missing. when i told the front desk he acted like i was lien saying “they don’t have anyone that steals that works there but he will ask them if they got my glasses” why would someone steal let you know they stole? never heard anything about my glasses that i spent over $500 for. they left the case but took the classes and so we stopped room service. We stayed from Sunday to Wednesday. When my husband checked in the girl was really nice and told us it was only $100 deposit we didn’t think anything about they. Tuesday night (after being there since Sunday) around 8:00-8:30pm Frank shows up at our room door while we are headed out for my husbands bday and got reservations for the restaurant up stairs. he stops us and clearly we are rushing out because it’s his bday that was the point of the trip and demands more money. the room was paid for but they charge $150 a night and wants $450 right then or we can’t stay. we was leaving in the morning so why do we need $150 a day if we are almost done with our stay and yall didn’t get it to start with. it’s our last night. so we told him we don’t have that much to be held on the card because we thought everything was okay and we will have to go upload it but it’s 8:30 at night and nowhere to do it. he says he wants to come look in our room and he will drop it down to $20. we let him come look in the room he clears and see we haven’t used anything and tells us to meet him down stairs. i rush to the restaurant for our seats and my husband goes and handled it he says he said $200. he directly told us $20 bc we showed him on that one card what was left in the bank and that’s all we had until someone opens bc again it’s night time. he gets angry with us and told us he will take cash and take $200 or basically we have to leave and no refund. we gave him the $200 cash the money wasn’t the issue it was the timing. the next morning we went to get the money back and we told them we will be leaving around 6:30, the guy tells us we have to wait til frank comes in. i told him we don’t got time by the time we ended up with our money back we was rushing to the airport ended up being late and missing our flight and having to pay $400 more over something that could one been handled on our first night there. ruined my husband birthday. we told our self on day one this will be our new place since we are trying to visit every few months but after this and how we was treated we won’t be back and i...
Read moreOverall 2 stars. Here is why.
I gave the room 2 stars because it was small and bathroom had no actual door but a sliding door which from outside the bathroom while in the room you can see someone’s form.
The location is 3 stars because being so close to the beach is a big plus and the fact that it’s close to a tour company and the tour company does pick up from the hotel but otherwise, it’s kinda sketchy looking and foul smelling location from trash to marijuana.
Service I gave one star but If I could give zero I would. The custodians and housekeeping are good and we’re nice but everyone else is entitled and bored. My family and I first checked in and were met with hidden charges such as them holding $600 outside of what we are paying for our stay from our account and them saying that after we check out it will get back to our account but they will take $160 from it as security or something similar. My mother was informed that breakfast was included but apparently they charge for that too. I am writing this at the airport leaving 4 hours after checkout .
Our flight was @5 but checkout was 11 so we check out and head to the rooftop to hang out around 12, we only asked for mock tails which are overpriced and watered down by a block of ice with annoying paper straws that stick to your lips and tongue. Once it’s time to pay I put the card into the card reader the waitress brought and I noticed she selected a 22% tip for herself which I didn’t understand because all she brought were drinks and that’s it so I choose no tip and sign but she notices and say “you selected no tip so I have to go and change it” I was confused and when she came back and she still selected her own tip but I didn’t protest simply because I have somewhere else to be. Afterwards she says to me “when your sat at a table and waited on you tip, babes” . Who is babes ??and why is she so comfortable saying that to me. I got my family and we left. My card says the cost of the drinks which were 3 drinks (mock tails ) was $42 which went through but after she ran it again it was $49 which is from the $7 tip she gave herself. I wish I got her name because I felt mocked and disrespected. A tip is a generosity not a must. And sometimes not everyone has extra to give after spending so much in a foreign place from home for vacation
The carpets smell everywhere , there is only one elevator and it’s the same old breakfast every single time. I feel like a Karen writing this but I write this to notify others. Pick a better hotel and take a bike to the beach because this hotels annoyance is not worth ruining...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Erwin, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Miguel & Brandon at the front desk. His accommodating nature, kindness, and complimentary demeanor immediately set the tone for a memorable stay. Miguel went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of my visit was flawless, and his attention to detail truly stood out. Alongside Miguel, Brandon was equally impressive, offering outstanding service that made my stay even more enjoyable.
The room itself was a testament to modern elegance. The decor was both contemporary and inviting, with an amazing couch that provided the perfect spot for relaxation. Special touches throughout the room elevated the experience to new heights. The luxurious robes and monogrammed bags labeling tissue paper and the blow dryer were delightful surprises that added a personal touch. Even the wooden type door keys and door tags were a charming nod to classic hospitality.
The quaint patio attached to my room was an oasis of calm, offering a serene space to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening unwind. The attention to detail in every corner of the room was impeccable, making it clear that Hotel Erwin places a high premium on guest comfort and satisfaction. Including items commonly needed for an enjoyable beach excursion::: towels, chairs, sunscreen, games & more
