See warning below my review
Venice Breeze Suites is a cool/fun spot to stay in Venice Beach. The building appears to have been an old apartment building that has been renovated into a hotel/suites. We weren't expecting much due to it being an alternative to traditional hotels. The reviews, price and location are what sold us.
The staff at the front desk were helpful in getting us checked in/out and answering questions about parking. We were impressed with our room. For a studio apartment it felt large. Bigger than many hotel rooms. Everything was updated, the kitchen, floors, flat screen TV on the wall, the bathroom, standing shower with 2 shower heads, etc... The view of the beach from our room was fantastic. The windows faced south, giving us a view of the beach, boardwalk, and Venice. 1 thing that is likely overlooked at Venice Breeze Suites is the rooftop deck. It provides an amazing view of the beach. There is a fire pit, grill, and lounge chairs available up there as well.
There are a few things that I wish could have been better.
#1, parking. Parking around Venice Beach is less than ideal. We were lucky to find parking on-street, several blocks away from the hotel. Because of street cleaning, we had to move the car every morning before noon to avoid being ticketed and/or towed.
#2, paper thin walls. This is not a place to stay if you're looking for peace and quiet. The elevator, other guests, music, etc... all travel through the walls. The first 2 nights were livable, the last night was unbearable due to guests in the next room over who were able to perform 3 passionate sex sessions within a couple hours (good for them, bad for us). They were also playing music, not louder than normal, but with how thin the walls were we could hear EVERYTHING.
#3, homeless people. See warning below.
All in all I think Venice Breeze Suites is a great value and should take your consideration IF you are looking to stay in Venice Beach.
Warning Venice Beach is infected with homeless people, drugs and crime. We had no knowledge of this prior to our arrival and were culturally shocked. We assumed the area was nicer because this was a beach with a boardwalk in very close proximity to high-end hotels and restaurants. There are literally hundreds of homeless people who live on the boardwalk, on the beach, on side walks, right outside of the hotel. You will smell human feces and urine as you walk to your car, you will smell drugs as you walk down the boardwalk, you will witness things you do not want to see. This area is to be avoided UNLESS you can be open minded and can see past this alternative lifestyle. This area is FILTHY. When residents have to put up tall metal fences around their properties, there is a reason why. I wish I could tell you that the homeless people are harmless, however I had 1 ask me if I wanted to fight, when all I was doing was crossing the street at the same time as him. Personally I would not stay in Venice Beach. This has no bearing on my rating of Venice Breeze Suites, but a heads up to those who are thinking of...
Read moreI travel a lot and this is the first time I ever felt like I needed to do a review. I had booked a one bed room suite with partial ocean view a pullout bed for my partner and I and upon arriving we where given a tiny room facing the alley way with lots of drug activity taking place and a couch that pulls out like an ironing board. We couldn't sleep the first night as there was so much noise outside our window and when I looked out the window there were people injecting themselves (I don't care what people do with thier lives, I just don't wanna deal with such crap when i pay some good price for a place, just beware). With 3 more nights left we had to switch rooms, I asked to be moved, they moved us with an additional $30 per day and at that point I was feed up and didn't mind paying extra in order to get some sleep......the staff the first night I was there was drunk and the other lady high, it was fustrating trying to get good service. But things didn't get worst until after they moved us up, I had forgotten my laptop charger in the previous room and came down few hours later and housekeeping said they dropped it off with the front desk, when i asked they front desk they had mentioned it was dropped off and the ladies who worked during that shift were not in and I should come back at a given time when they'll be back, one story led to another and the charger was not found, and magically grew legs and walked off the lost and found drawer, no one wanted to take responsibility or accontability of the missing charger and until the day we had to leave still no charger. I had to buy a new laptop charger after going home. My instincts tells from the way everthing played out a staff member took my laptop charger becuause there was some drug activities going on that some of them were also involve in. If you find yourself staying here, just make sure to pay attention to details 😒. Aside from this horrible experience being at venice beach was quite nice and taking walks down the beach to the ocean wow....boardwalk was also nice, I just wouldn't stay at Venice breeze suites again if I was in L.A. I was there the week before Christmas 2016 don't know if anything has...
Read moreDuring my recent stay at Venice Beach Suites, I found both positives and negatives that future guests might want to consider. The hotel's location is undoubtedly its strongest asset, situated directly on the beach, offering easy access to the sands and waves which was a delightful experience. Moreover, the rooftop view was nothing short of spectacular, providing panoramic views that are perfect for catching a sunset or simply enjoying a moment of serenity.
However, there were several drawbacks that detracted from the overall experience. First and foremost, parking was a significant inconvenience. The hotel does not offer complimentary parking, forcing guests to pay an additional fee for off-site parking or an even more expensive fee to park in a shared lot. If you park in the shared lot, make sure you bring a can opener to get in and out of your car because there will be no room. This was not only inconvenient but also added an unexpected cost to the stay. Additionally, there is no designated loading or unloading zone, which posed a risk of receiving a parking ticket while trying to manage luggage – something that can be particularly frustrating for travelers arriving by car. I know because I got a ticket even though I was told I would be ok for a while.
The room’s amenities also left something to be desired. The heater in my room was not programmed correctly, rendering it unusable. Thankfully, I was able to troubleshoot the issue with the help of online guides, but this is certainly not something guests should have to deal with. Another issue was the noise from the guests above, which was audible throughout the night. This made it challenging to get a good night’s sleep and could be a significant inconvenience for light sleepers.
While Venice Beach Suits boasts an excellent beachfront location and stunning rooftop views, the lack of parking, the issue with the heater, and noise pollution from other guests were notable drawbacks. Potential visitors should weigh these factors against the hotel’s prime location and amenities. Future guests would benefit from the hotel addressing these issues to improve the overall...
