There is no juror parking underneath the justice center, so you have to park at paid parking lots/garages nearby. The parking on 2nd street between Broadway and Spring is $12 now for 24 hour parking and $3/15 min if you stay for a shorter time and the fee does not go up to $12 (It is only $12 MAX, so they will not charge you more than $12). Security was respectful. You have to put all your belongings in a container and put it through the scanner. You can bring electronics, chargers, food, water, and coffee (unsure about other beverages). They no longer manually check through your bags/backpacks unless they feel the need to do so. The waiting has lots of seats (it's just that many ppl always sit a seat away from strangers to leave more space, but there is rarely a time where there aren't enough seats). Check in at the front desks in the waiting room. After waiting for 10-30 minutes, one of the receptionists will call out names for different panels/cases with a mic. Departments on other floors, if you are sent up there, are easy to find. Waiting for elevators though is usually the longest part besides waiting for your name to be called...
Read moreThey opened at 7am and do not have anywhere to get dropped off. Good luck coming here at 6am to beat traffic because there is no place to park or get dropped off!! I felt unsafe as a female being here before morning sunlight!!
The workers here are very rude and act all high and mighty! They talk in a loud rude tone and act like you’re a criminal when we waste our time and money to get here! These people should be happy they have their job because they could be replaced ASAP. If you do not like your job then leave and give it to the youths! Many people are looking for jobs now! The employees are also disorganized as they do the have a single line before opening at 8am! People rushed through inside like they were seeing a celebrity being worshipped right about when they are being opened. They use a mic to say your name which is an invasion of privacy!! They should not call our name where everyone in the room can hear it, they should call a number or something.
Overall, it is not safe here anytime of the day even in the afternoon as there are many homeless people no matter the hour! They need to have a place for...
Read moreThis is where I have to go for Jury Duty since they wouldn't allow me to go to a closer court house near where I'm at. I believe the majority of us don't like getting called up but it's our duty as a US citizen. Jurors can part at the Disney concert hall and if you scan your badge then parking will be free. Checking in was easy if you did the orientation online before showing up so you can come in a little later. But it's LA so traffic will be horrible if you try to drive after 8am. The waiting room is okay if you're able to find a spot. I sat in the computer area so I could use my iPad when studying for my certification exam. They have wifi here as well and a power plug in some of the seats (not all seats have a power outlet). The way they announce who get assigned to which department or courthouse is by someone saying jurors name selected on a mic versus just putting the name on the TV there. The food at the cafeteria is okay, not my favorite and the line could be a while if everyone goes...
