It’s a great please to be for Information, but please don’t be fooled. If you don’t have legal representation, Stan Mosk will send you here in order to get your affairs in order. Once here, you ask for help; yet the staff themself are no help. Asking about the case, then getting bored and end up saying “I’m trying to catalog the problem” when the case can definitely match a civil book. Furthermore when trying “speak with a lawyer” about your case. A librarian ask about your case and states that they are who communicate the case to the lawyer. Then the lawyer reaches back. Is what I was told. So then I ask “why would I explain my case to you? If that’s what i left my contacts” in order for a lawyer to listen to the case then tell me about such. Nope! Completely attitude and rude, attitude on the librarian staff. This is a grave danger and puts our democracy at risk because of gross misconduct. Let’s not forget the guards, when someone is being a nuisance they don’t say anything. Though when your studying they’re always always around and past you like fruitflys, very pesky. I interpret this behavior as harassing and instigates menacing behavior. To check out books you need Coins in the bank. About $250 deposit. Can checkout a book for a graceful period of 5 five days. Place is clean on inside and guards always on õ.ő duty. (Wanted to be respectful and no camera and violate the individual wearing black with white shirt and red ties) now i just ignore them like pest.
I guess over all the place needs funding! Which can allocate better help and resources for our country and society. Also note: place closes 15min earlier than posted. So Mon-Fri instead of 6pm it’s 5:45pm weekends differ but are subject to same...
Read moreThis library is one of if not the best resource for legal issues I found. They have several self-help resources and all of the employees I spoke with were well-informed. I spoke to different lawyers here and each of them helped to answer my questions. It is crucial to be informed in laws and your rights since a lot of people will tell you that something within your rights is “against the law” in ignorance so it is worthwhile to inform yourself in a place like this library. Knowledge is power and I am grateful for a place like this library that makes legal resources easily accessible. You are able to do 2 free sessions a year and they also have plenty of resources outside of that as well. I took part in zoom sessions, in-person sessions, phone calls and received answers sooner than lots of the other resources I was using before finding them. I would like to thank Roberta Ponce, Stephanie Osorio, and Nicholas for their knowledge and time. Also, compared to other places they were the most responsive. It is in downtown LA and the parking is available in several locations one of the closest is 221 W 2nd St and that parking lot is about 3 minute walk away, they have an...
Read moreNot doing enough to make accommodations to assist people right now remotely. Courts are open..but the Law Library is for the most part closed. Can't check out books and can't access any materials remotely, other than a few pages which they will send you. They need to reopen but limit the number of people inside to those only doing actual research, require appointments, and block the regular internet so the computers are like Pasadena, give people a 1 hour time limit, move some shelves in the middle to allow for more space between tables and limit 1 person to a table, put tables in front of the reference desk/circulation desks where people would typically stand to force social distancing on everyone, put up the plexiglass shields, get some uv lights, and lots of cleaning materials and require people to wipe down all their own surfaces, if people want to use paper books then scan the pages they'd like to view so they can view them on a computer, or give out disposable gloves for those who need to use printed material..or just allow remote access to the same resources that were available on the computers in the...
