Great food and selection. The menu has many Hawaiian and Mexican inspired dishes. Music was playing in the kitchen that made me of Hawaii. The whole place has a small town diner feel, including the unsightly wall of restaurant supplies messily stacked against a wall in the backroom. I got a cinnamon roll french toast which was like a smooshed cinnamon roll. the pancake has a nice crisp in the edge which tasted delicious with their salted butter. I wish I had some white toast to go with that yummy butter. Part of my mom’s pancakes were gummy though, she thinks they added cornstarch cause it does have similar texture to the store bought arepas. She ordered the Happy Diner special which consist of 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 bacon or sausage. Sausage were slighty spicy and tasty even though I am used to smaller sausage links (these were similar to English bangers and smash sizes). I made the mistake of ordering a fried jalapeño for breakfast. I am definitely a wimp, I will leave that to the pros. The Tshirt owner across the street said Jack Black and the Red Chili peppers ate there recently. This cute little diner must have good food cause it isn’t some fancy hollywood diner. It is more like a place you see on Guy’s tv show “diner, drive-in and dives”. Pricing was very reasonable. Too bad I was full because they has so many things I wanted to try. Hopefully I can try them again on my way back to San Pedro. Sorry I didn’t get to take many pictures of the food. Everything looked so delicious that I started to eat before taking some.

I travel a lot & have been to breakfast places all over the world. This IS THE Best place in the area! I have been here multiple times. I can get breakfast at 2PM even 3PM! Finally! Thank you! The fruit bowls here actually have good fruit not cheaping out with just using melon like other restaurants. Food is always fresh, flavorful and staff courteous. I love that we can sit outside! The only thing that I see can be improved (other than more circulation inside) is for your TAKE OUT orders. Please please please consider using recyclable materials, cardboard folding containers even, just not styrofoam. It is bad for the environment but also the potatoes were so hot in my container that it melted the styrofoam, now those chemicals are in the food. Not dinging any stars because there is always room for improvement and I'm sure it will get better. I will update this review if they change that. I will tell my coworkers to keep coming here. See you in a couple weeks! 😋

Happy Diner is a hole-in-the-wall if ever seen one. The staff is pleasant and they have a wide selection of great tasting food, pretty much what you'd expect from any diner. Last time I was here, I had the Borracho Burger which has 3 different cheeses, bacon, spicy mayo and grilled jalapeños. It was fantastic but boy was it messy, I see why they call it the "borracho", l'm sure it tastes even better when either drunk or hungover. In previous visits, l've had their regular cheeseburger, carne asada fries and their buffalo chicken fries. All taste great and definitely a great option. It just depends on your preferences and what you're in the mood for but it's safe to say, it's hard to go wrong here. I don't really have a sweet tooth so I rarely order dessert, but this place has great cheesecake so I make the exception when I come here. This place is definitely worth checking out if you find yourself in the area.

Well I'll be dipped in chocolate and slapped into the freezer! Who knew this cozy, tiny place would have such a scrumptious, huge menu? You want it? They've got it! I chose Ribeye steak, potatoes, eggs, and a biscuit for breakfast. I wasn't disappointed. The portions were plentiful, the steak was prepared just right, and the potatoes...oh my! The potatoes! Crispy, crunchy, creamy, and cooked to perfection. The oversized biscuit was light, fluffy, and melted in my mouth. It was so delicious that I forgot to ask for jam. Yes, it was that GOOD! The menu had so many selections that it was difficult to choose what to eat. Get there early! Because of COVID-19 most people chose to dine outside. They ran out of tables and I watched as the staff measured, sanitized and brought out more tables and chairs for diners. It was cozy, cute, and enjoyable. The staff is polite, ready to take care of your every wish, and pleasant. They are top-notch bar-none. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this adorable establishment. For two steak and egg breakfasts with all of the trimmings, my bill was $47. I was happy to pay just a teeny bit more than I'm used to for breakfast because of the service and FANTASTIC...
