El Pajonal restaurant — Restaurant in Los Angeles

My Salvadorian girlfriend craves this food and really likes this restaurant. I on the other hand strongly disagree with her estimate. It is embarrassing for a restaurant to surve such a bland and tasteless food with no flavor, no taste - nothing. I don't really have experience with that cuisine, but it really reminds me of Russian or even Finish food. Food with no taste whatever. One would think the cook is a gym bro that does chicken in the oven with nothing on it - it was that awfully bland. How is it possible to cook so bad? One has to try very hard to be that inept... I am no cock, but I can assure I can cook 10 better than this sorry place. Service was dismissive and pretentious like they are doing me some kind of favor taking my money and giving me nothing in return. Atmosphere was depressing and I do think the place needs a bit of a cleaning... hygiene is lacking... Don't waste your time...

The worst restaurant I've ever been to in my entire life they refused to serve me because I am an African-American and I was with a Caucasian male they inferred that I was already drunk the moment I walked into the restaurant and that they cannot serve me alcohol I hadn't drinking anything all day I was almost questioning whether I should call the police and have them come out here and breathalyze me to prove a point. Im tired of the racism and hatred that the hispanic and american elite vomtinue feeding into and provoking. People or business that operate to those standards dont need to be allowed to continue to operate and that goes for every race creed color or ethnic background if your not going to benefit the country as a whole then you dont need to be here period. UPDATED REVIEW: The food is still delicious but they have a big sandwich board outside advertising special prices for to-go orders on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and when I ordered and was given the bill they charged me regular price. When I asked about the special they said they changed it and now it's only on Wednesdays... Change the sign or take it off then, don't advertise something and not honor that price! Also the bathroom smells really gross and strong like cheap air freshener. Best pupusas in town! We ordered bean and cheese pupusas and a cheese and zucchini one, with plantains and beans on the side. Everything was delicious! Plus there's a nice outdoor seating area even though it can be a bit noisy as it's a busy street.
