Extra Space Storage — Local services in Los Angeles

Nadia assisted me yesterday with the transfer from one unit to my new unit and the transition was very smooth and very timely and I was very surprised at the time and efficiency in the professionalism that she did the transaction smoothly very informative and very swiftly save me a lot of time and I got my things moved in and I was glad that I was able to get it done one day. Plus Nadia was able to give me a great discount at my request for a smaller unit something that fit my budget plus I love the late hours they're open till 8 p.m. nightly even tho the office closes early .extra space storage makes it possible for us to have longer hours knowing people have to work until 5 or 6 p.m. so we have at least an hour or two to go to our storage if we need that extra hour or two to do so great company to do business with I recommend it for anyone that's looking for a storage unit this is the best one i-Rate it at 10 stars I give Nadia 100 stars she's very polite respectful and has a great personality willing to work with you help you find the best deal possible or a better person to help me make my move smooth have a great day. I'm a self-described "Self-Storage Connoisseur" (or maybe a Self-Storage "Junkie"! LOL) ....point is I have years of experiences at many self-storage facilities ....good & bad.

In late June I stopped by the Extra Space Storage (ESS) location at 4728 Fountain Ave in Hollywood, CA near Hollywood Presbyterian & Children's Hospital for a new storage need.

Beth - the "relief" manager (while Martin was on vacation) was very personable; she listened attentively to me, she understood my self-storage needs and she shared all the boiler plate info about the facility - it's hours, unit availability, pricing & facility policies.

I appreciated that she didn't offer first-month discount incentives as I believe they're a misleading sales tactic.

After a short discussion, Beth & I both came to the conclusion that this location WASN'T the best fit for my needs.

After we agreed there were better solutions, without skipping a beat, she provided information about potential other storage options - NOT LIMITED to other Extra Space Storage locations; we discussed solutions FOR MY NEEDS rather than FACILITY AVAILABILITY.

The Self-Storage Industry is EXTREMELY PROFITABLE and in my experience is almost always more "SELF-SERVING" than CUSTOMER-SERVING.

It appears to me, however, that the Extra Space Storage company culture IS MORE CUSTOMER-SERVICE ORIENTED than INVESTOR ORIENTED and I find...

I came back to LA after a seven-month stint in San Francisco. I was initially at a different location and had a wonderful experience there. However, I need it flexibility with the hours that I could access my unit. I am a hard-working media professional and a chaplain to celebrities so my work requires me to travel quite a bit. I came to this location and was immediately greeted with a warm hug from Christian. I knew her from her visits to the other location and she has always been amazingly warm and friendly. She immediately took me back to the unit and showed me where I would be able to store my extra items. When the manager arrived, he was just as amicable in his greeting with me. I had a bottom unit, which is much more convenient for me and they also accommodated me by giving me a brand new lock since the access on my new unit was damaged. I already feel much more comfortable in this location due to the area and the safety precautions that are clearly already in place. This will absolutely accommodate my hectic schedule and it puts me at ease at the same time. Again, the staff is second to none and I highly recommend them for all of your storage needs.
