My mother heard about it through a Chinese newspaper news and I honestly had no idea what to expect. She called the number to make an appointment/reservation and it turns out you call Randy directly. He said that since we're local, it's best to come at a certain time because that's when the light is particularly special, which makes the light off the glasses that much better. Sunset is usually a good one, when we went it was around 10a.
He called him when we were outside, as he asked of us and he came down to personally meet and guide us through the vision. We started from across the street from his house/Randyland and he asked us to look at it from different points, which gives the impression of different images/art. We also met some of his neighbors who were super sweet and supportive of him.
When we went upstairs to his front yard, we got the see the same piece we saw from the front, but from the back, again it does look different. And the passion he has in describing the light, the glass, the specialness that you're seeing; he's really inspiring. We were probably there for 45min to an hour and he answered all our questions and walked us through how he started to his grand plans. If he's able to make that happen...it'll truly be a sight to behold.
Definitely worth a visit if you're...
Read moreThis is one of the most wonderful ways to spend an hour or so in the whole of Los Angeles, nay the whole of California. Randy is such a warm and enthusiastic character with a fantastic passion for his creation that no-one could fail to be enthused by him alone, never mind his incredible creation and the effect the late afternoon CA sun has upon it. Mesmerising sunbeams and refracted light combining in such psychedelic manner to amaze and astound the visitor. I cannot believe we stayed 5 minutes away but managed to leave this until our last day and I am so happy that I did make it round to see one of the most brilliant solo creations in all of America. Randy is a true original and his work should be seen by everyone. Could not recommend this any higher than an absolutely must see. I just wish I took better pictures/had a bit more sunshine to truly show the...

If not, let me introduce you to an art installation that’s built outside the home of local artist-Randy Lawrence.
His wonderful work of art is made using colored glass bottles filled with water to refract the light. Held together with wire and mesh, he’s arranged them in a way that works with the sun to create dynamics of shadow and light. ☀️ 🌚
What’s most beautiful is that what you see is entirely dependent upon where you stand, the sky, and the time of day. The art itself and its surroundings play off of each-other to create endless opportunities of creative expression.
Like I mentioned in my post beforehand, Randy is SO kind and passionate about his work. He even gave out free magnets and little glass marbles! 🤩 The whole experience truly touched me. Thank you for all...
