It was an experience dining at Bacetti. With no reservations, waiting time was about 30min, at the meantime I was able to wait at the bar and have a drink. Asked if I could get a Focaccia with Honey Butter. Just saying, the appetizer blew my mind! It looked like a Brioche topped with Rosemary, black olives and a bit of Raisin. And the Butter was huge, but I can only say the combination together was like dancing in my mouth. Felt I was in heaven. So fluffy and crunchy on the outside! After that I was placed to the table. I ordered Broccolini and Strozzapreti Cacio e pepe. The food came pretty fast, I asked a waiter for a wine recommendation and than somehow I waited for it like a long time. I thought he probably forgot. So another waiter came to check on me, and I told them I got a wine recommendation from their co-worker. He'll check for me and brought it right away. To the pasta, it was very delicious. But for my taste it could be more stronger, a bit more pecorino would be great. Anyways I wanted to request if they could make it stronger, but the restaurant was really busy So I didn't bother with it. But the thing was while the other waiter was putting my dishes away and asked the unfinished food to pack up. He said he will bring a box for me. Which was a bit confusing, but he literally meant to bring the box and I had to pack it up myself....well unusual for me. I think the Manager of the restaurant came to my table and asked how the general service was and the food. So it was nice to interact with guest as much as possible.
He kindly offered a dessert for me which was the delicious panna cotta topped with figs, mint and a sprinkle of salt. It was really nice and refreshing! The panna cotta wasn't too firm as I know it. But that was really nice, with the fig it was a great combination. I asked the waiter what was the fig reduced with and he gave me an answer that it was with Balsamico vinegar and sugar. Which didn't really Taste like it I asked the manager aswell the same question and he told me, with Honey...Idk two different answer....maybe a bit more info between kitchen/waiter staff? Overall the interior and the food topped it off totally. A nice place to have a dinner date or girls night. Would definitely visit again Thank you for your...
Read moreA dining experience that feels both effortlessly cool and deeply satisfying. The place draws you in with its ambiance—warm wood tones, dim lighting, perfect for a date night or a dinner with friends. The outdoor seating provides a charming option for those who prefer to dine al fresco and enjoy the evening air.
The focaccia ebraica is a must-order, a masterpiece of bread-making. If you’re even thinking of skipping this bread, let me stop you right there. Studded with taggiasca olives, currants, rosemary, honey, and sea salt, this focaccia is so perfectly moist and flavorful that you’ll forget any bread basket that came before it. I initially thought, “Eh, just focaccia, I’ll save room,” but when I saw (and smelled) every other table getting one, I had an immediate case of food fomo and flagged down the waitstaff. It’s the only way to start your meal here.
The fiore di zucca, or crispy squash blossoms, are stuffed with a creamy ricotta filling and topped with calabrian chili, honey, and pistachios. It’s solid and simple, delightful and addictive—my only complaint is that there weren’t enough of them. For something on the lighter healthier side, the radicchio salad does its job. Shaved fennel, walnuts, grapes, and goat cheese make a fresh, earthy mix, but I think the use of dressing was excessive.
The pasta—where Bacetti really shines (well, alongside the focaccia). The mafaldine pasta with short rib ragù was a rich and hearty dish. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the ragù generously loaded with tender short rib. The tonnarelli cacio e pepe pasta also delivered, but it could have benefited from a bit more black pepper to really nail that cacio e pepe punch. For drinks, the house rosé was an easy sipper, and their house drink vertice hit the right notes, balancing bitter and sweet.
The service was cheery and efficient, matching the overall laid-back, good-vibes energy of the space. The staff knows their menu inside and out, and they’re quick with recommendations. Bacetti is a place where you can indulge in some seriously good Italian fare if you navigate the menu right. Just don’t make the mistake of skimping on...
Read moreBacetti was a decent meal - I think the best thing we had was the caesar salad since the dressing was really great. We had a mushroom pasta which was fine - the sauce coagulated when it got cold which was a little off putting. However the ragu that we got was delicious.
The one thing we did not like about Bacetti was the service. Our server seemed forgetful having asked us if we had allergies or dietary restrictions on 4 separate occasions (as much as it is appreciated it seemed strange that she continued to ask us and not remember). She also forget to get us our second glass of wine after we waited for 20 minutes she realized she forgot it. When she said she would bring it, our food came about ten minutes later. We told the food runner to tell our waitress that we no longer wanted the wine. She returned to our table with a half filled glass of wine and said something along the lines of "i was mid way through pouring it so here you go". To me, I felt that it was pretty condescending. There was no point in her bringing the wine over to my husband other than to make a point that she was pouring it. I have served many years at fine dining establishments and doing that would have been a major problem. I am typically gracious with servers because I have been one, but we dined late and there was barely anyone there so there was no excuse for this. We also asked for her honest opinion about the desserts and which one is great when she suggested the olive oil cake. I asked if it was dry and she said no. As a pastry chef, this was the worst olive oil cake I've ever had. The crumb was way too big for what an olive oil cake should be and the cake was SO dry. To try and compensate for the dryness of the cake it was served with a syrup. So we were disappointed in that especially after she said it was a moist cake. It wasn't and I feel like I spent money on a dessert that I could have gotten at Vons.
Overall, mid...
