Can't miss this place - it's the place with the huge cock, I meant, rooster on it's roof. Be warned, if you can't stand the smell or sight of animals, this might not be the place for you. You might want to mosey into a butcher or Vons for your chicken breasts.
Also, during weekends and holidays (asian ones, of course and maybe thanksgiving and xmas) they're hellva busy - so plan accordingly. Also, probably closed on all major holidays. No parking lot for the public - street parking, or the lot next door is $3 all day.

Read moreEverything was fine but I asked for 3 fresh chickens and that i didn't mind waiting for them to kill three fresh chickens and the lady said, "they're preparing them right now" thenshe walked over to a trash basket of chickens sitting in water and got my chickens, one has blood soaked skin. Maybe they have so much business they don't have time for a drop of personal attention to orders. Now I need to figure out how to get this blood off the skin without infection and i don't know how long they were in the waste baskets or what bacteria has been festering in there. $46 feels like i want to throw these away! Very hard to find a decent live poultry place...

Animals are being kept alive in painful conditions, only to be slaughtered on-site often in ways that appear inhumane and deeply cruel. The suffering these animals go through before being killed is hard to watch and impossible to ignore.
While I understand that some places process animals for food, there is absolutely no excuse for allowing them to suffer in pain, fear, and distress while still alive. Ethical treatment and humane slaughter standards exist for a reason, and what is happening here feels like a clear violation of those basic principles.
