Saw "Harlequino" last night and it is supremely entertaining. Best kind of play; talented, engaging actors, comedically presenting historic events that are relevant to the world today. The play then shines a light in the direction to proceed once the play is over. Remember the saying, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Set is unique in its spareness, which allows the audience to watch an actor on the "sidelines." I read 1984 in 1987 (8th grade) and studied Russian and went to the USSR because of it. I was concerned how someone who supported a socialist could direct this profound story. Mr. Robbins honored Mr. Orwell's work and the REAL people who died, suffered and continue to be punished because of non-conformity.
