I like to go shopping for groceries at the Highlands Kroger around 11pm because the aisles are empty of customers and the night stock staff are super quirky and helpful and Fân friendly. I found out that they do inventory on the plants outside on Monday during the day shift, so if you go in on a Monday night the plants are newly marked down and organized and super cheap! Who doesnât like a sale on tomato plants and basil plants to put outside on the deck or dig a hole in the yard, throw a plant in there with some water and and see what happens. There is this awesome woman who works there. I gotta find out her name. Iâve talked to her every time Iâve been in there because fab. She wears a doo rag and I can tell that sheâs rocking some substantial braids under there so props to her on her âIâm going to work and this is my lookâ stylishness. She told me that the Highlands Kroger is a freak show and all kinds of freaky people walk in from the street. She told me about a woman who was talking to an imaginary invisible person and we both marveled at the oddity of that but it takes all kinds right? We always have a laugh. The next time that I came in I walked up to her and I pointed to thin air in front of me and I said âwho is that lady right thereâ she was all âwhaaaaat?â Her big eyes got bigger and she rotated her neck preparing to side eye at me. Then I started laughing and of course she recognized me and she belly laughed and said Yknow thatâs funny but let me tell you what happened earlier tonight. A couple had come in and they both went into the restroom together and an elderly woman of the âhave a bless-ed dayâ sect had noticed them go in together and came and got her and asked for security or at least a manager because she HAD to find out what they were doing in there. She wasnât waiting to go into use the restroom she had seen them go in and she just wanted to know. Her response to nosy church lady was âYou never know what people are dealing with, Maâam, Please, Mind your own business, I am sure that they are okay in there - One of them could be diabetic or whatever â. Brilliant. They have a lot of weird great gourmet items that are on sale that I usually wouldnât buy like chia seeds but when a big bag is on sale for $1.99 Okay. Sure. Why not. Seems like they expanded their fancy foods to compete with Whole Foods maybe? That jar of Sunflower nut butter is bound to go on sale soon and when it does it will be mine. The deli is faaaat. They offer a wide variety of every kind of olives and 4 different feta cheeses for under 4 bucks. I like to play the search and find game for the sale items. It really is the best late night entertainment that wonât end you up in trouble available anywhere nearby. Skip the filthy Kroger on Brownsboro and the Whole Foods is great to go look at things for ideas but come here late night and say hello to the late night staff. They will smile and say hello back and might ask âSo whatâs your deal? I like those shoesâ Late Night Grocery shopping at the Highlands Kroger is most definitely the KING OF THE...
Read moreHello, to tell you the truth, i really don't think krogers on bardstown rd, in the highland area should even get 1 star honestly, Ive had BAD experiences before time and time again, im one of many who work across the street.. After i get off work, i like to go shopping for food, sure i take awhile, but who doesnt, its on the way home anyways, im always looked at by employees, and every time im at an isle trying to find an item, i hear over the intercom that they need security on that isle, the same one where im at, it never seems to amaze me every time im over at that location, they wanna treat me like im a criminal, like im a thief, ive got a job first and foremost, why would i have a reason to steal anyways, ive got better things to do with my time than to steal.. My husband, who is african american, gets treated the same way, he is a mechanic, he makes more than i do, and we both pay for our groceries, no other Krogers treats us like that.... The employees at the highland krogers are nothing but a bunch of yuppies and have nothing better to do with their time than to call security over the intercom. Sadly say that WE will NEVER go beyond that point and shop there again. Its pretty sad that your friendly customer service is nothing but a bunch of lies.. You never see anyone smile, never greet you coming in, and yet treat you like a criminal... You All just lost 2...
Read moreKroger is a convenient and reliable store, even though itâs on the smaller side compared to other locations. While the size might limit the variety in some areas, it still manages to have everything you need for everyday shopping.
The meat selection is okayânot the most impressive, but decent for the price. You might not find specialty cuts, but the quality is fine for basic cooking needs. What really stands out about this Kroger is the affordability. Their prices are fantastic, making it a great place to shop if youâre trying to stick to a budget.
Another perk is the free parking, which is always appreciated when youâre running errands. Itâs easy to get in and out of the lot without any hassle. Plus, they offer a lot of additional services that make this location super convenient. They have a pharmacy, which is perfect for picking up prescriptions while grocery shopping. They also sell fresh flowers, so you can grab a bouquet for a special occasion or just to brighten your day.
If you need money orders or want to purchase Kentucky Kingdom tickets, you can do that here tooâitâs a one-stop shop for so much more than groceries. Overall, itâs a solid neighborhood store that delivers great value and...
