We tried this place for the first time today and this review is being written as soon as we walked out of the place.
Ambience: there's none. The dining area is too dark with 8 lamps on the ceiling with dull lighting. It's so dark that I had to use the torchlight on my phone to see my food.
We're a group of 4- me, hubby, daughter and her best friend. We came in and sat and waited for menu and water. Unfortunately it's so dark that we didn't see that the placard on the table that read "scan barcode for menu and placing order". Luckily I had their menu already pulled up on my phone while on the way.
Order: Falafel pita with toum sauce for me. Chicken kabob on a bed of rice with tzatziki and fries for hubby. Vegan avocado pita for daughter. Pita pizza for her friend. It took more than 40 mins for the food which was below par. If I could rate in negative, I'd give it a - star. The food was so dry that both hubby and I needed water to swallow it. Neither one of us finished our food. I had to order a side of the so called tzatziki sauce. An authentic tzatziki would have Greek yogurt, grated cucumbers and is so flavorful. This was nothing close to tzatziki. Just some yogurt with a few specks which I assume to be cucumbers. I did take the leftover half Falafel pita to actually see what it looks like in light. The girls finished theirs only because they were super hungry. There was only one girl to serve and she was trying her best. The only positive I think is the server. Nothing else. on ambience on service on wait time (especially because the food was below par) overall experience
This was the first and definitely the last time. What a waste of family time and Sunday evening.
P.S: Sorry for the poor pictures. That's the best I could do despite of having a...

Fast forward to a Saturday afternoon and we're driving down Hurstbourne and I see Eat A Pita off the corner of Hurstbourne and Shelbyville roads. My first word was "PITA!" My wife said "I know where lunch is tomorrow!"
The next day we head to Eat a Pita. I think we were the first customers in the door. This being our first visit we stopped to check out the menu.
The Eat a Pita menu is more than pitas. You can get your pita on in a bowl, as nachos, a pitadilla (quesadilla), or as a salad. First you select what you want, then your protein, added toppings and condiments and you've got (I did some really bad math) about 18,000,000 different ways to order your pita.
(note: that number was totally made up)
They also offer kabobs and quite a few appetizers. We had the pita chips and white queso appetizer (it was STELLAR, and the pitch chips a made to order so they're warm and fresh).
All of the food is prepared fresh, right in front of your eyes. The staff was helpful (I think they're largely family run, which is nice to see) and when we had a question no one had to ask anyone else for the answer.
On this visit I think we were the first customers of the day so the dining room was, of course, clean and well stocked. Parking is a breeze and they're easy to get to off of the monstrosity that is Shelbyville Rd.
I'm glad we noticed Eat A Pita. We now have a good pita...
Read more5/5 for the quality of food and deliciousness, where I knock a star off is at the bottom of this review.
I came here to visit a friend for a few days from Texas. We have plenty of restaurants there that are either vegan or offer vegan options, (where I'm from), however, they do not always have a dedicated vegan menu. Eat a Pita on the other hand happens to have just that, a select vegan menu which offers delicious items which I am greatly thankful for as I myself am vegan.
The portion size was big and I did not finish all of my meal and had to take a to-go box. This is due to the selection of sides to choose from alongside your meal (if you order any of the vegan pita's from the vegan menu) which are all dense but delicious. I had the opportunity to try both the vegan BBQ pita and the vegan Philly cheesesteak with the vegan steak fries. I enjoyed every thing I ate but of the two pita I would recommend the BBQ.
Additionally, I found that the restaurant offers things such as $5 carry out happy hour deals, which if I lived in the area I would happily order much more often from. The Mediterranean food places where I'm from are not as delicious as this place was.
Where I knock 1 star: Two improvements I feel this place could make are:
1.) Atmospherically the place could use some improvement to attract customers 2.) The table I chose alongside my friends was "sticky" which I'm unsure if that's representative of the rest of the tables, but if so then it could...
