Unless you are truly desperate, DONT LIVE HERE. Yes the management staff is very nice and helpful and you couldn't ask for a better location on campus. But this place is terrible. I have lived here since August and I have had maybe 2 good experiences while living here. The fire alarms are beyond sensitive and go off multiple times a month for unnecessary reasons. The building in general was put together so fast that people installing the appliances did a horrible job. Our washer/dryer didn't have cold water, our dishwasher flooded our kitchen twice, our ice maker didn't work at one point, there is also no where to park when they said when we were signing our lease there would be close parking. You will get $600 worth of parking tickets if you live here. And the maintenance people SUCK. They barge into your apartment without even knocking or saying maintenance when they walk in. They come into your apartment all the time for unnecessary reasons. The maintenance man just walked into my apartment just now without even knocking. Another thing they promised us was a pool, yeah we have one but it hasn't been open once!!! There are also overage fees every month when they said that it would be near impossible to do so! Also, the building doesnt have any outdoor cameras. It's not safe. Multiple cars have been broken into outside and they haven't done anything about it. This place is terrible. I pray that when UofL buys this place it gets...
Read moreI like the layout of the apartment, the furniture, and the amenities. BUT there is a laundry list of flaws. First of all absolutely no where to park. You will rake in tickets. Second I also have the maintenance men barge in my room on so many occasions. Even when I have been dead asleep in my room. Third, most important key piece of info, I live below the lady who runs the apt complex and I swear her or her roommate I don't even know. Are. So. loud. Cinderblock feet. Final thing, THE FIRE ALARM goes off about every other week. I had it go off at about 2am, 4am and 6am all in the same night. Also I've seen hella mice. The people who live in building do not know how to throw out the trash. The computers in the computer room 4/10 times connect to the internet. My first week of living here they couldn't figure out how to get my key to work in the doors. Theres only two doors you can get in which sucks so much. One of the door ways smells like a homeless mans armpit. The blinds are ass. My cable channels keep freezing. Unlocking the door is screech from hell. Sometimes they empty the giant trash can in the middle of the night and the truck is SO loud.
Yeah the location and the space is nice but if you love yourself you will...
Read moreGnats are a major issue here. My apartment is usually slightly messy, never out of control, but the gnats still flock. You’d have to keep your apartment spotless all of the time in order to keep them away. Even one dirty dish in the sink can cause ten to flock. Also, the mobile keys are a major downside. The app is very cheap and poorly put together, seriously disappointing that the university would choose to partner with a company like this. Despite the obvious issue of not being able to get into your apartment if your phone is dead, the app is constantly breaking: popping up apple pay instead of the unlock screen, saying I don’t have access to my key, saying my key is expired, etc. It can be really frustrating, and it is the main reason I am moving out. Overall, UPointe is not an easy or convenient place to live. I would...
