Incredibly rude.
I went in with my friend today and right off the bat when they come over to check on us, they greet my friend and talk with her, but they didn't even look at me. Later on they come back. Me and my friend at this point have both picked out a good amount of clothes to try on and are clearly shopping separately. They, again, only acknowledge her and offer to start her a fitting room and leave me still walking around with a pile of clothes even though we were right next to each other. So when we go to the fitting rooms, my friend goes into her room that they prepared for her, and I'm left to stand awkwardly out not sure if I should just grab a room or not because there's no sign of anyone helping me. I grabbed a room and I hear them knock on it. I just say hello to let them know I'm in there and the attendant went on to another customer about this is why they always knock and wanted my name so she could write it. I tell her my name, Jill, she hears Jo (no big deal it happens all the time) but goes on to make weird comments and acts all thrown off that that was my name (which it isn't) and acted super weird about the fact that I was in a fitting room (no one was helping me). While we were trying on clothes, this attendant once again comes over and was giving my friend all sorts of suggestions for her outfits and would just pick stuff they thought would look cute on her, but again didn't even so much as look at me. They also were talking with my friend and were offering her all their promotional deals and what not to "help reduce the costs", and as you could have guessed, didn't even look at me. At some point I was done trying on clothes. I was sitting on a chair just waiting for my friend and as one of the attendants walked by I could hear them clearly talking about us over their headsets. Wether it was good or bad talk doesn't matter, it's inappropriate to talk about customers in front of them period. The time came for us to check out and as me and my friend get in line at the same time, the attendant looks over and says "I'll be right with you hun" looking only at my friend (not surprised at this point). When my friend goes up to check out, another customer gets in line behind me and once again she looks over, clearly looking at them behind me, and says she'll be right with them. When I get up to the register all she says to me is "oh you found some cute stuff too", while this is normally an innocent comment, with how she treated me the whole time it came off as petty and passive aggressive. Not to mention they told my friend that all of their spring clothes were buy one get one half off. We both got spring clothes and they only gave my friend the discount because she said something (they originally were going to charge her full price) and I assumed I didn't have to say anything because 1) they should know and 2) I was right there when my friend brought it up, clearly we all heard that. They didn't give me the discounted price and I had to pay in full.
Overall the whole time I just felt out of place and unwanted. It brought back memories of high school with all of the petty sports mom's who pretend to be nice to you and then talk about you behind your back even though they're a grown adult. My friend even felt uncomfortable because she felt babied by them while it was so obvious that they had...

I am a frequent Maurice’s shopper and I went into this location today in search of some work clothes. During my 30 minute shopping experience, I had one person (the only gentleman working in the store) ask if he could help me with anything. The other associates working at that time watched me as I went back and forth from the dressing room grabbing different sizes and items for myself. Once out of the dressing room I continued to shop around and listened to those same associates interact and help the other customers in the store, but never me.
It is not an issue that I had to grab my own sizes and items. The issue is that not every customer in this store was treated equally, which is just hurtful.
I know that retail can be very busy and overwhelming at times. However, this was not the case today.
I will think twice about shopping at this store again. It doesn’t take much...
Read moreI had the most incredible shopping experience today at Maurice’s in Loveland on Fall River Drive, thanks to Alyx, the store manager. I walked in with a vague list of colors and styles for a new work wardrobe, and Alyx went above and beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. She curated an entire wardrobe for me, thoughtfully laid out in the dressing room (see photos!), and offered genuine, helpful feedback on how everything worked together.
But what really blew me away was her warmth and kindness—not just to me, but to my daughters and friend who were with me. She made my girls feel just as special, even when they were picking out something as simple as earrings. Alyx is the kind of person who makes you feel like a celebrity with a magazine-worthy wardrobe to choose from. I left feeling confident, valued, and grateful.
Maurice’s, you’ve got a gem in Alyx. I’ll...
